Why is mental illness killing so many people in the U.S. via guns?

I think this is a question we all need to be asking ourselves because 1/2 of the deaths by guns are suicide and 1/2 of the deaths by guns are by murder here in the U.S.

However, if you compare this to other countries it isn't like this at all. However, I have never tried to compare another gun culture country to the U.S. because there might not be one that compares to the U.S.

The paradox I see it as the fact that without an armed U.S. population we would see the whole world completely totalitarian states. This is the first premise I believe is true.

Next, we have to deal with the fact that 20,000 people are murdered by guns here in the U.S. yearly now or more.

Next, we have to deal with 20,000 people who shoot themselves with guns every year here in the U.S.

From a psychology point of view maybe both types of murders are actually a form of suicide because of the way psychology defines what is suicidal because when you define suicidal behavior often you to say it it is HOMICIDAL-SUICIDAL behavior or maybe better said it is suicidal-homicidal behavior.

So, when some people get into suicidal places they act out by first killing others and then themselves.

Many of us face suicidal tendencies especially in young adulthood trying to find our place in the world.

This is primarily a problem that young men have.

What has caused this change in male behavior in the U.S.?

Likely it is the elevation of women and the devaluation of men in a traditional sense.

So, in the long run is this change good or bad?

This is an unknown at present.

At present I see the suicidal-murder scenario getting only worse and worse by the day.

When will this change?

Unknown.

However, as an intuitive this is what I think might happen:

It is possible that violence will continue to increase in males over time to where order is not working enough for local and state and the Federal Government to continue working.

So, it might look like (in many states) much like things were in the western part of the U.S. in the 1800s where everyone has to wear a gun to survive whatever comes.

So, if this happens I'm not sure what happens to governments. However, we did survive the 1800s as a country even when everyone in the west wore loaded weapons.

So, likely we will survive this too as a country.
