what did I learn from a vision quest in 1983 of no water or food for 4 days or 96 hours?

I learned that human beings are far more and far less than most people realize.

In the far more category I learned that we have senses that are so amazing that I wouldn't have believed it if someone told me about how amazing all our senses are.

On the less side I saw clearly just how vulnerable we all are, just as vulnerable as deer are with Mountain lions around.

But, I also learned how to be a part of the wild forest on this vision quest. I was 5 to 10 miles from the nearest paved road and several miles away from even the nearest dirt road and even further away from any other people on this vision quest.

I watched a mother with babies that were all wood ducks go down the Trinity River in California where I was in a Bear Wallow every morning and then up the river ever night to hide in the bull rushes with her chicks every night in the water hidden by the rushes.

I watched Bald Eagles fly over head during the day.

Since I couldn't drink water or eat food for 96 hours I "ate" the sunlight flashing off the Trinity River next to me. I prayed a lot and at night lit sweet grass in a braid as a form of incense familiar to native Americans as I prayed.

After 2 days of no water and no food I began to have survival visions from God.

The vision that has stuck with me the most was this one:

"I became a great Golden Dragon that breathed fire out onto thousands of people. I was afraid at first because I was afraid my fire would burn them up.

But instead, it enlightened them and they smiled in their enlightenment. This vision has become prophetic since I almost died at age 50 from a heart virus and when I survived almost dying for 9 months I began my first blogging website at geocities.com in 1999 which I had until 2007 when I got this one in the fall of 2007. I liked this one because I didn't have to compose in HTML directly unless I wanted to.

This vision became prophetic because I now see that God wanted me to write to help enlighten mankind through my websites if they were interested. So, I have been writing online now since 1999 in June in giving Thanks to God for saving my life because I had a 2 1/2 year old and felt I couldn't die and leave her without a father. I also had a 10 year old and a 25 year old at the time I wanted to stay alive for and my wife and my friends.

So, writing at my blogs is a Thank you note to God to try to benefit all his children in this Galaxy and beyond.

By God's Grace
