My wife said it was drizzling some when she took the dog out into our backyard this morning. And I noticed the deck was wet from likely drizzle this morning too. I think the weather man said that we were at about 37% of normal rainfall so far this year so it's completely different than last year this time. The storms are hitting hard from about a little north of San Francisco then inland to the Sierras and places like Mt. Shasta and further north up into Portland and Seattle. For example, it could snow enough to close Interstate 5 today because of all the snow coming down to 2000 or 3000 feet there along I-5 today or tonight.
For example, you can no longer drive north of Redding, California on I-5 without either snow tires or chains or 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive right now. Here is what Caltrans says:
