I took the train with my family from Bristol, England to Edinburgh Scotland in 2011

We had rented a Mercedes in London and then drove as far as Glastonbury with it and then we drove to Bristol where we spent the night and returned the car and the 5 of us got on the train to Edinburgh Scotland. Then we rented another Mercedes and drove from Edinburgh eventually all the way to Aberdeen to stay with a Doctor and his family because my wife had met his wife in Australia while she was traveling there years before. The Lady and her Husband were both from London, England originally.

The only problem with the train ride was that someone had a medical emergency on this ride and the train was held up several hours for the person either to get off the train or to pass away on the train. I'm not sure which but it went something like that.

I had flown to Scotland once before in 1999 in October with my then 10 year old daughter and my mother while she was still alive. I wanted her to see where her mother and father had grown up in Scotland after they both were born in American but had to return until after they met and married. My grandmother was born in 1888 in Philadelphia and my grandfather (my mother's father was born in Boston) but because my Grandfather's father died when he was 8 they had to return to Scotland and when my Grandmother's family's house burned down they had to return to Scotland too. However, all my Grandmother's sisters and brothers who were born in Philadelphia eventually moved to Omaha Nebraska and most worked on the Newspaper there so likely around 1910 or thereabouts.
