What does this mean? It means as desert plants die more from too much heat in Global Warming and Global Climate changes that whenever it does rain bad things are going to happen because there is then nothing at all to hold back the water. It means erosion (Whenever it does rain) will get pretty scary indeed.
I was watching people trying to survive the flash floods on video that someone had taken with their smartphone recently and I could see the fear in their eyes as water came off the sandstone red cliffs and down through the Colorado River and they just found the body of the lady who was about 32 I think that didn't make it who was washed away in the Flash flood down the Colorado River.
If desert plants are dying it just means that flash flooding could become 10 to 100 times worse in the deserts of the Southwest and all over the planet. It means that many species of plants and animals and insects likely aren't going to make it because they often are all interdependent in various ways.
It means that people have to be even more vigilant in looking for rain coming down up to 100 miles away before walking down "DRY?" washes and places where water goes when rain comes down in the desert.
The "DRY?" washes can be 5 to 10 feet deep with water or more and when they flood suddenly without any warning from rains 100 miles away if you have nowhere safe to go then you are washed away like the 32 year old lady in the Colorado River at the Grand Canyon.
Here are some videos from the incident I recounted above:
