I was driving past a local mall and saw a new type of cardboard sign from a homeless person. This man obviously was well dressed and new to being destitute. He reminded me of an accountant. His cardboard sign said, "MY WIFE HAD A BETTER LAWYER THAN ME". This said it all. When you see this kind of sea change in the types of people with cardboard signs by the side of the road you know most people are hurting in a way unseen at least in my lifetime.
My parents saw things like this in the 1930s but since I wasn't born until after World War II in 1948 I only heard about the Great Depression and World War II myself. The worst I have seen was from the Arab Oil Embargo in 1973 until the Clinton Administration.
Of course, there are still 1/3 of Americans mostly upper middle class and outright rich who aren't affected as much by all of this than the majority. For now, they have enough money socked away(not on credit) to withstand the initial barrages of economic downturn at least. So, for at least the first few years of this most of them will be okay. It will only seriously affect most of them if this goes on more than 3 to 5 years.
Another thing to remember is that the PRIMARY reason and cause of divorce is not infidelity or anything else. The Primary reason people get divorced is money. Either not enough of it or fighting over how to use it or one hoarding it over the other. This one thing is the primary reason divorces happen worldwide.
Like my ex-wife said to me when we broke up 15 years ago, "Love is not enough!" Money was what broke us up at the time too. We had 4 kids we were raising and didn't have enough money and she needed to divorce me at that time in order to get her rich father to help her. Sick but true. She chose money over love like most people do in the end either for their children or themselves.
Though I'm wealthy now I wasn't then. Life goes on. So I'm saying all this as a caution to all of you now. Life is really tough and sometimes love isn't enough and it is a killer. I barely survived all this but I have a new life now and all my biological children will be with me and my new wife and daughter for Christmas this year.

Saving the Future Part 5
Healing the Future by understanding the Past and Present
Though the air between Ragna and Jonathan was strained by their conversation about 'Time Shards' an understanding pragmatism had been reached between them that had been cathartic for both men of cultures 5000 years apart.
Ragna said as a Gentleman, "I'm sorry to be the bearer of such bad tidings, Jonathan. I wish I had better news."
Jonathan:"It's okay Ragna. Like you said before if I wasn't brave enough to ask the question I wouldn't have been brave enough to hear the answers to it. So I'm not angry at you. If I am angry it is that we are all in such an untenable situation. I remember going to sleep a few nights ago and I was having a conversation with God and it went something like this.
'God. I'm really upset about a lot of things in my life. And God or one of his angels said, 'What is it really'. Now for some reason this caused me to go deeper and I said, 'I'm angry at the Laws of Physics that cause so much suffering to us all.' Then God or his Angels said to me, "We have no control over the laws of physics, Jonathan. That is beyond us. Once you are born into a physical body you have to deal with that. That's just a part of the learning strategy. It's a lot like if you board a plane, a passenger plane. Until you either get off the plane when it lands or God Forbid, it crashes you are stuck on that plane and under the enforcement of the laws of physics, the dynamics of the plane and if all that works properly, the captain of the plane. Living in a human body on earth or beyond earth is basically the same as long as you are alive in a physical body there are constraints and disciplines one must follow to stay alive and prosper as a physical being.'
Somehow, God or his angels saying this gave me peace. It reminded me of Buddha saying that what all men,women and children have in common is that we all suffer with basically the same things and that therefore we should have sympathy and compassion for each other and help each other permanently out of this suffering that accompanies living in a human body. We should also have compassion for all beings on earth and beyond earth in the past, present and future who also suffer this fate of being born into a physical body as well. What all beings past, present and future have is their suffering. If we use this to make life better for all beings then this suffering becomes less and less for all beings. And so ones personal suffering and the group suffering becomes less and less and ones bliss grows more and more. This gives great peace and bliss and relief to all."
Ragna said, "You do realize that I am a dream incarnation of the present Galactic Sentience?"
Jonathan's world seemed to melt and morph and then he said, "Yes. I think I have felt that for some time but it didn't rise to the surface of mental awareness completely until now." Jonathan's body quaked and shuddered a little as the full implications of this awareness settled in.
Ragna said, "It is a pretty strange concept for me too, Jonathan. However, my last contact with the full Galactic Sentience allowed me to see this and I now have had several years in real time to adapt to this concept. Do you think it is really true or just a manipulation."
Jonathan said, "I have this same kind of problem with you and Elohar. Are you really my parents reborn or are you just pretending to manipulate me? I don't know. However, if I really think about it I'm not entirely convinced that the physical universe is actually physical but may only be a thought in the mind of God so to speak. So, it is my thought that 'yes' you are really my Mom and Dad reborn and 'yes' you are a dream reality of the Galactic Sentience born on earth. Besides, if you know the Galactic Sentience as I do ,Ragna, then you know his function in the Galaxy is almost a duplicate of what you do here on earth in some ways. So playing you, so to speak would be an easy relaxation for him in comparison to his normal duties."
Ragna said, "He studies you through me, Jonathan. He sees his Grandfather's spirit a lot like his master or teacher. So, he looks for those spiritual insights in studying you through me."
Jonathan said, "Yes. He has told me that. I don't always know what to do with that but if it helps him to study me and to think of me as a dream version of his Grandfather then so be it. Once again, which comes first the chicken or the egg. It is like a zen Koan, it is like a Yin Yang, it is never ending and composes the whole universe in an infinite paradox of synchronicity."
Ragna said, "I can see why he studies you, Jonathan. It is in your nature to study spirit. For those of us in whom the spirit is more frightening it gives us hope to study you, for you are not afraid of spirit because that is your nature. Having been killed by spirit you have become it. You frighten us but we understand what has happened to you and long to be able to do what you do, automatically!"
Although Jonathan knew that Ragna was right it made him uncomfortable to actually think in this way for long because it made him feel like he was a ghost so he chose to move on from those thoughts.
Jonathan said, "I can't really talk about this in any useful way. It is sort of like the saying, "The way that can be talked about is not the true way for the true way can only be experienced and not talked about in any useful way."
Ragna said, "That's why we watch you Jonathan, because talking isn't the way. Watching and Being and experiencing is."

It is Useful to Know
In these very strange times worldwide one gets the feeling that there really isn't much one can count on these days, not government, not jobs, not even ones own business, credit etc.
In this climate it is important to figure out what one actually can count on, oneself. The spirit of self reliance is what always has made America great. The qualities of surviving anything, inventing our way out of any crisis, flying by the seat of our pants, figuring a way out when no one else can or will. This is what is has always meant to be an American, at least one of the Americans that survived whatever came in their lives.
Yes. We are the sons and daughters of those who survived anything. Can we do less than our forebears? It is time to accept the challenge of surviving whatever comes now. This may be a completely different life than any of us ever expected. But taking and interest in figuring out a way to survive it is ALWAYS the first step.
I have been in classes designed for passenger aircraft crash survivors in remote areas. The very first thing they teach is to take an interest in how to survive every moment and how to be efficient about it. The ones who get lost in blaming themselves or someone else keel over and die first. But the ones who take an interest in their survival and the survival of those around them survive and sometimes even prosper in these situations. So taking and interest and planning and sometimes just putting one foot in front of the other, walking, can save one life or 10 or 20 or 2000 or even 2 million. One good idea can sometimes save a whole city of people, just one good idea!
So, let's figure it out.
One way to start would be to familiarize oneself with what one would be capable of alone or with their family or the group of people they live with. realistic assessments save lives. Unrealistic fantasies sometimes cost lives. So realism and pragmatism is what we are looking for.
One way to see what you are made of is very simple. Just go camping if you can afford it. Maybe right now might be the right time of year but for some of you who are experienced maybe the snow and cold is the perfect time to test what you know about yourselves. To see what you can do and what you can survive. However, it is always best to do these things in small increments so one does not put oneself unrealistically in a situation there is no way out of. One does want to survive. After all, the point of all this is to test ones mettle and not to die doing it.
For example, I learned while studying with a medicine man that not drinking water or eating food for four days while praying in the wilderness is what American Indians did for thousands of years to get visions about who they were and what they needed to do. next. So, first my good friend's girlfriend went on a vision quest, then I did and finally my friend did. We all chose the summertime and we all went 4 days and nights without food or water.
Now, many of you might say, "What a crazy thing to do!" My response would be to say that this was one of the single most useful things I have ever done in my whole lifetime. First, it taught me many many things I would never have known about myself. It first taught me that being a human is a far different thing than I had ever even considered in my whole life. At one point about 2 days without water or food I got very irritated with hornets bothering me and pestering me. I decided that since I had slowed down my perceptions from no food or water that I might let the hornets clean my nose since that seemed to be what they wanted to do. I had heard that aborigine's in Australia sometimes let them do that. So I sat very slow while hornets climbed up my nose and cleaned my nostrils one by one. I talked to these hornets as they did this and they did not sting me so it was a symbiotic experience. It taught me many things I did not know before.
The next thing I learned was how vivid our perceptions are when we don't eat food or water after about 2 days. There are ways to perceive that I had not even considered before. There are senses that open up during these times that are completely amazing. One could still carry on a conversation if one had to but it would be a little strange but very different than being drunk. It would be more like having your dreams and your reality start to merge. You still physically know what's real but all your dreams waking and sleeping become much more vivid and overwhelming so being in a safe place is very useful during this time. During a lot of this time I prayed for visions from God to guide me and when they came it was mostly at night. In one vision I became a gigantic Golden Dragon that breathed fire upon thousands of people. But they did not burn up because I was breathing the fire of enlightenment upon them. This vision was so powerful it led me within 2 years to Tibetan lamas in the United States and India and Nepal. This vision changed my life. There was another vision also that was very profound as well. These two visions have stayed with me ever since. This all happened in 1983. So even though it is 25 years later now, these visions are still as real to me as when I experienced them so profound and life changing were they.
The other way this experience changed my life was that I was no longer afraid of being without water or food for 4 days. Yes. I'm older now but because I know myself in this special way I don't fear starvation or thirst as I did before this experience.
Though I don't expect all of you to do this I'm simply saying it is good in times like this to know what you are made of. So if real difficulties come down you don't just lose it. You need to find a way to go on and to stay as rational and calm as possible no matter what happens in your life. For this is how all our ancestors learned to survive anything and how we all got here. Know the truth and the truth will set you free!

Saving the Future Part 4

As you Remember if you read Saving the future part 1, 2 and 3; I, Jonathan Flow, was talking in Ragna's time space conveyance in a pine forest near the ocean on the coast of Central to Northern California. Ragna had set the alarms because the ship is invisible and from 7000+ AD from the Swiss Italian border at that time and didn't want any other hikers or their dogs getting a concussion from walking into a temporarily invisible time space ship.
Time Shards. . .
Jonathan spoke up, "Ragna? Could you tell me if you are allowed to about what Time Shards are? I still don't quite know what that is all about to my satisfaction. When others tried to explain this to me I was just too horrified about the whole idea and couldn't really take it in."
Ragna looked a little like he wanted to throw up and said, "It's not easy for any of us who work in the Time Altering business whether we are Earth based or beyond Earth based.
It's a really awful phenomena. When the Galactic Sentience gave Time Travel to Earth through the United States Government based scientists, Tesla as the visionary and Einstein as the Scientific theorist and pragmatist, he knew that it was very 'iffy' I guess would be the right word I guess. Do you understand what I mean by 'iffy'.
Jonathan looked a little blank and said, "Yes. But I think since we come from cultures 5000 years apart that I need you to say more than 'iffy' about it."
Ragna said, "Fair enough. The best way to put this was that time travel was a better outcome than the annihilation of earth by nuclear weapons or any of about 100 major and 1000 minor ways."
Jonathan liked what he heard, "Yes. This makes more sense than what I thought was going on. I felt whoever did this was pretty flaky and not knowing fully this last part I can see it wasn't flaky at all. It was a kind of desperation to keep Earth alive any way possible."
Ragna said, "Exactly. That is telling me you finally understand what I have most needed you to know from day one but I couldn't just blurt this out until you felt the lack of clarity yourself so you could ask this question if or when you were brave enough. So, if you are brave enough to ask that question then maybe you can hear about time shards and not puke like most people do, especially if they know the people involved who live on time shards."
"To begin time shards are sort of like the clutch on a stick shift car. It's like first the clutch is engaged in first gear and then it gets up to the right speed and then the shifter is changed while the clutch is pushed in and then reengaged and then the engine gets up to speed and then the clutch is disengaged and then the shifter is move into third gear and the clutch is reengaged. And if the transmission is a 3 speed then you are done unless it is a 4 speed or even a 5 speed with a manual overdrive. Are you with me so far?"
Jonathan said,"I don't get the real relation between time travel, time shards and transmissions."
Ragna smiled, HE said, "I'm getting to that. If we see time shards as the clutch, and the shift between gears as the growing awareness and sophistication of a culture through time then the 1930s were 1st gear, World War II and all the 1940s were second gear. Third gear was the 1950s and the first half of the 1960s. Fourth gear was the late 1960s to 1992 and the end of the Soviet Union. But the clutch was burning for 8 years until 2000 and then 9-11 when we went into overdrive. Overdrive turned out to be the single scariest proposition so far. I know that doesn't really make sense. But the best way that I can explain it is that change is now coming so fast to all mankind that NO ONE can keep up with it in any real way. Whereas, at least some scientists could keep up with 1st gear and half of 2nd gear. But now, no one intellectually can keep up in any real way. And intuitives, though they might begin to understand 5th gear can't really convey just how fast everything is warping into lightspeed. I would say the biggest problem humans are now having is that there is no way to actually communicate what is happening on earth in any useful way. And that is the real problem of 5th gear, Time travel."
Jonathan looked confused and said, "But what does that have to do with time Shards?"
At this Ragna looked angry and said, "2000 was the end of time shards!" Ragna looked away.
Jonathan wouldn't back down and said, "How many versions of me and everyone else on earth died on time shards between the 1930s and 2000."
Ragna looked sick and said, "About 100 versions of every man woman and child alive between the early 1930s and the year 2000. Their sacrifice was necessary in order to bring the earth from a potential permanent nuke of the planet to where that could no longer happen again just after 2000."
Jonathan finally understood what the real sacrifice had been for humans to survive the 20th Century at all. At least 100 versions of each of them had been sacrificed in order to get one version past 9-11-01 without causing most of the world to become uninhabitable for about 20,000 years. For those 20,000 years the only good place to live would have been around Switzerland and Northern Italy. Most other places humans were animal like from radiation. North and South America were gone. Asia and all the Pacific Islands were gone too. I can't believe it took 100 versions sacrificed to time shards to get the one we now live on.
Jonathan looked at Ragna and said, "Are we on another time shard right now?" Ragna said, "It depends if humans can survive Global Warming with a civilization intact."
Ragna looked sad and said,"The real scope of Global warming hasn't yet been reported in the news, Jonathan. The real science has been repressed because it is just too awful to report. If you want to know why President Bush is acting odd lately it is because he knows the real reports and what they say."
Jonathan said, "What do they say?"
Ragna said, "I'm not authorized to tell you."
Jonathan said, "I already figured that out for myself."

Jonathan said,"I don't get the real relation between time travel, time shards and transmissions."
Ragna smiled, HE said, "I'm getting to that. If we see time shards as the clutch, and the shift between gears as the growing awareness and sophistication of a culture through time then the 1930s were 1st gear, World War II and all the 1940s were second gear. Third gear was the 1950s and the first half of the 1960s. Fourth gear was the late 1960s to 1992 and the end of the Soviet Union. But the clutch was burning for 8 years until 2000 and then 9-11 when we went into overdrive. Overdrive turned out to be the single scariest proposition so far. I know that doesn't really make sense. But the best way that I can explain it is that change is now coming so fast to all mankind that NO ONE can keep up with it in any real way. Whereas, at least some scientists could keep up with 1st gear and half of 2nd gear. But now, no one intellectually can keep up in any real way. And intuitives, though they might begin to understand 5th gear can't really convey just how fast everything is warping into lightspeed. I would say the biggest problem humans are now having is that there is no way to actually communicate what is happening on earth in any useful way. And that is the real problem of 5th gear, Time travel."
Jonathan looked confused and said, "But what does that have to do with time Shards?"
At this Ragna looked angry and said, "2000 was the end of time shards!" Ragna looked away.
Jonathan wouldn't back down and said, "How many versions of me and everyone else on earth died on time shards between the 1930s and 2000."
Ragna looked sick and said, "About 100 versions of every man woman and child alive between the early 1930s and the year 2000. Their sacrifice was necessary in order to bring the earth from a potential permanent nuke of the planet to where that could no longer happen again just after 2000."
Jonathan finally understood what the real sacrifice had been for humans to survive the 20th Century at all. At least 100 versions of each of them had been sacrificed in order to get one version past 9-11-01 without causing most of the world to become uninhabitable for about 20,000 years. For those 20,000 years the only good place to live would have been around Switzerland and Northern Italy. Most other places humans were animal like from radiation. North and South America were gone. Asia and all the Pacific Islands were gone too. I can't believe it took 100 versions sacrificed to time shards to get the one we now live on.
Jonathan looked at Ragna and said, "Are we on another time shard right now?" Ragna said, "It depends if humans can survive Global Warming with a civilization intact."
Ragna looked sad and said,"The real scope of Global warming hasn't yet been reported in the news, Jonathan. The real science has been repressed because it is just too awful to report. If you want to know why President Bush is acting odd lately it is because he knows the real reports and what they say."

As you Remember if you read Saving the future part 1 and 2 I, Jonathan Flow, was talking in Ragna's time space conveyance in a pine forest near the ocean on the coast of Central to Northern California. Ragna had set the alarms because the ship is invisible and from 7000+ AD from the Swiss Italian border at that time. Obviously it is called something different by then because English, French, Spanish, Portugese, German and most other european languages by then have melded into one language, even though variations of all the others are still spoken then in more remote hamlets of mainland europe. There are also influences in this language of Russian and Chinese that have been major influences in addition to the English language influence common to the 20th and 21st centuries on all European languages.

That might be the strangest of all since so much of it is received like all Shaman of the Universe do directly through telepathy, a sort of osmosis. Jonathan said, "That is what I"m told by several different beings from several different time periods past, present and future."
Ragna said, "Precisely. And that brings me to what I really need to talk to you about. Can you remember telling me how when you first started bi-location and bi-location time travel that you used to think it was accomplished through effort and how over 10 years you realized that the universe was more like a thought than a physical thing with actual dimensions?"
Jonathan was slammed by Ragna's explanation and said,"I didn't say it that way. Your way of putting it is five or ten steps ahead of the way I put it."
Ragna said, "That's only because I have access to 5000 years more scientific discoveries both on Earth and beyond than you do."
Jonathan this moment felt scared and alone and small. He hated such moments of feeling vulnerable. He dealt with them the same way he did with such moments with his father as a child. He stood as strong as he could as a man and prepared himself for whatever would come...
Ragna went on and Jonathan heard an angry plaintive quality come into Ragna's voice.
"I need to return to the paradoxical ambiguities that you, your father, and uncle have created just by your existence. First of all, no one not even I know whether the change began when you were born and grew up and soul traveled to the Galactic Core and met the Galactic Sentience who then realized you were an incarnation of his Grandfather who had created the Galaxy, OR, whether your father and of course Albert Einstein and Nicola Tesla were the start of all this, Or, whether it was entirely the Galactic Sentience who planned this whole thing himself? You would not believe the arguments and hurt feelings among people who take one view or another. Then there are other points of view that have actually resulted in altercations of various sorts over the years."
Jonathan felt a little hurt by this and said, "I never intended any harm to anyone."
Ragna catching the hurt feelings of Jonathan quickly said,"No. I didn't mean that you intended this. In fact, far more good was done the last 5000 years with this than harm. However, just be aware I am a part of this present diaglog and even though it was required reading in school in a theoretical context, I also was privy to the good as well as the harm done to civilization by this. However, without this thing you and I are doing now my future could not exist. In other words without what you and I are doing here right now I would have never been born!"
Jonathan said, "That's a pretty scary thought. In its own way its as scary as the chicken and egg thing with my Dad and Uncle and the whole Galactic Thing."
Ragna said, "Exactly. And now you are ready to hear what I really have to say. There really is no time or space. This is the first thing Time travelers are taught and it come from the basic lessons as a shaman you teach in your works. I could call you a scientific Shaman in the vein of Merlin and Jesus and Buddha. This is not to degrade the incredible gifts these men brought to society. It is to explain the gifts you bring as a linc in their infinite chain of knowledge and wisdom. You bring lineage and I as a young man was taught by the lineage you bring from science, lineage both Christian, Buddhist, Swami, native American Shamanic etc. By applying the scientific method to philosophic and religious thought you have brought both mythology and reason and scientific inquiry into everyday life. Not many are willing to take the risks that you have because they are too culturally and religiously constrained. The pain you have been through in your life has freed you the way most humans could never psychologically survive. But you have Jonathan. And that's the point. Can Jellyfish Drive Cars?
I had just told my wife the awful jellyfish story worldwide about jellyfish swarms replacing fished out areas of the ocean worldwide and that fish couldn't come back until the jellyfish were less in number again.
Her response was "Can jellyfish Drive Cars?" She laughed and said, "I meant can they fuel cars?" I said, "I don't know."
But I realized that since they are edible(some of them) then I suppose it is possible that they could be a fuel source in order to allow fish to replenish themselves in the ocean again.
To repeat for those of you who haven't heard, jellyfish are filling the niche left by the fish that are fished out of many areas of the oceans of earth. Fish cannot replenish themselves because jellyfish feed on plankton and baby fish. So fish can't get big because their plankton food source is disappearing into the jellyfish and the stinging tentacles of most jellyfish kill baby fish (just like seen on Little Nemo, the Disney cartoon) and thereby prevent immature fish becoming adults, many of which eat baby jellyfish after the baby fish become adults.

.5% interest rate slowly lowers dollar value
Whenever the interest rate is dropped by the Fed it creates less foreign interest in some U.S investments because of a potentially lower return between their currency and ours. This tends to create a lower U.S. dollar value.
Also, as this economic crash deepened many foreign currencies were hurt and people ran to the dollar for stability. However, now many of those foreign currencies have finished tanking and so those people who ran to the dollar for security are returning to their home currencies since most home foreign currencies have somewhat stabilized. as a result of both of these factors the dollar likely will slide downward for a little bit. It's hard to say how long this will be.
The good news in this if there is any in this is that American manufacturers might be able to sell more easily to foreign countries since the exchange rate might get better for foreign sales now for awhile.

Since Internet explorer IE5 through IE8 have been found to be vulnerable to all passwords being potentially stolen whether those passwords are to games or to banks or to paperless credit card records or internet records of all kind. and since this could be done remotely anywhere on earth, I agree with the above article that in order to protect all passwords people need to move away from Internet explorer versions 5 through 8. I don't know if earlier versions are okay or not.

This has been true for sure in the last 100 years or so. World war I left europe in disarray first because of the incredible losses of men and civilians during world war I in europe. Then the League of Nations made everything worse by economically punishing Germany which created Hitler and then World War II. Luckily, after World War II the United Nations learned from the mistakes of the League of nations and did better.
The United States left World War II as the only really economically viable nation left on earth. Because of this America got very rich selling to other nations and loaning them money to reestablish themselves.
Then Viet Nam turned the United States from a rich Creditor nation into a Debtor nation because the Viet Nam War was unbelievably economically expensive. Monetarily, not allowing for inflation it was likely more expensive than all of World War II.
This caused directly the Arab Oil Embargo and several recessions that I personally lived through as a young man. I was 21 in 1969.
If the Viet Nam War turned us from a rich Creditor nation to a debtor nation then the Iraq War and the war in Afghanistan turned us from a debtor nation to a bankrupt nation.
However, that does not tell the whole story. The United States militarily, is still the single scariest nation on earth. Even though we are not the same manufacturing powerhouse we used to be because of lower wages and less expensive materials elsewhere, we are still the scariest and most experienced and quite frankly capable of blowing the whole earth up hundreds of times with the weapons we now have.
So, it is in the interests of the rest of the world that we do not go bankrupt and so hopefully, they will prop us up because if we completely collapse economically that would be the single scariest outcome of all for earth because then who would actually control our incredible weapons that everyone knows could destroy all of earth hundreds of times over right now?
However, it is actually a whole lot scarier than that. Global climate change is a very big factor in the present worldwide economic collapse. It is a much bigger factor both in a physical sense of things like the weather and the capacity to grow or not grow food because of droughts and other factors, permafrost melting and peoples houses and companies sinking into the melted permafrost, the polar ice cap having lost as much ice area as California, Texas and Alaska combined etc. etc. etc.
Then there is the psychological toll all this knowledge is taking upon everyone educated to know just how serious this is. Then there are the people not fully educated but realizing that it is every man woman and child for himself or herself. And who goes extinct because of it? all edible species of insects, fish, animals and birds on earth one by one?
Fishing worldwide is now so out of hand that jellyfish swarms are beginning to take over fishing areas in the Mediterranean Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, parts of the ocean off of california and all around Hawaii. As people become more and more desperate not to starve to death more and more fishing areas in the world will disappear permanently or semi permanently because the jellyfish eat compete for plankton and small fish too. so where the jellyfish swarm the baby fish will be killed by the jellyfish and the jellyfish will also consume the plankton that baby fish often subsist on as well.
so, in many areas of the world overfishing will permanently end fishing as long as jellyfish swarms exist there. This will lead to more desperation and further economic collapses internationally, more starvation and more rebellions and wars out of complete desperation to survive.

Fishing worldwide is now so out of hand that jellyfish swarms are beginning to take over fishing areas in the Mediterranean Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, parts of the ocean off of california and all around Hawaii. As people become more and more desperate not to starve to death more and more fishing areas in the world will disappear permanently or semi permanently because the jellyfish eat compete for plankton and small fish too. so where the jellyfish swarm the baby fish will be killed by the jellyfish and the jellyfish will also consume the plankton that baby fish often subsist on as well.
so, in many areas of the world overfishing will permanently end fishing as long as jellyfish swarms exist there. This will lead to more desperation and further economic collapses internationally, more starvation and more rebellions and wars out of complete desperation to survive.
Earthworm
My wife, who has 3 degrees including an MBA in non profit fundraising was probably more impressed with meeting Earthworm of all the people I have known that she has met. Those of you who are or were alternative enough in the 60s, 70s and 80s might know him or know of him too.
When my wife met him he was wearing buckskin garments and was likely walking barefoot up to Horse Camp. At that time he had Maori Tattoos on his face that he very likely got somewhere from the Maoris in New Zealand, for like I said this is a very interesting man. At one point his lady it is said fell in love with another and he decided to go permanently to India and it took him 2 years of begging to buy himself a ticket back to the states. Though there are many legends about the man(he started River Spirit) a northern California self Sustaining commune on the South Fork of the Trinity River likely in the 70s or late 60s.
My experience with River Spirit was completely organic and unexpected. My friend Anton, and his girlfriend and I decided to walk to a place our Medicine man who was of the Blackfoot and Sioux tradition lived within 4 miles of River Spirit and my friend Anton wanted to walk several miles along the river to Eagle Cliffs where our medicine man lived with his family. So Anton, his girlfriend and I walked along the Trinity around 1981 or 2 toward Eagle Cliffs. We found the River incredibly beautiful. However, all of a sudden we came upon several hundred naked people. I suppose some people would have been scared at this outcome but Anton and I were used to being around Alternative and even commmunal types since he was at UCLA in the late 1960s and early 1970s. So, of the two of us, Anton was probably much more comfortable in this situation. I was mostly just blown out to see so many naked men women and children farming their land naked and by hand. Of course the food was all organic and some of the structures(all wood) were quite beautiful and artistic. We spoke with two younger guys that were playing Hacky sack naked on a large wooden deck attached to one of the buildings there.

It turned out that Earthworm had sold his fancy sports car and cashed out part of his inheritance and bought river spirit free and clear. I had seen many college groups of 10 to 20 living communally on 1 to 20 acres before while going to college. But most of these outfits ceased to exist as the members graduated college with Bachelors, masters or Doctorates and got married, settled down and had kids. However, as far as I know River Spirit is still in existence and still in a sort of nether realm almost unattached to the rest of the world. It is sort of its own Shangri La kind of place. However, that sort of life is definitely not for everyone and definitely not a forever lifestyle for most people. But for a few rare few it might be a voyage of self discovery while looking for ones true place in the world. Like I said, places like this aren't for everyone, not even for me. Flowcharting
I have been studying about the evolution of computer programming languages lately. I thought it might be fun to make a flow chart that most programmers make for complex programs with many subroutines and apply it to something everyone(or almost everyone does) almost every week or sooner.
I thought I would do an informal flowchart for shopping for food and break it into three subroutines: checking the fridge for what we need, second driving our car to the market and three shopping for the food at the market. usually yes no answers are represent by zero or 1 on the binary level. depending upon the language yes is usually 1 and no is zero.
Theoretically, if we had our own robot we could program him, her or it to do this for us or do it ourselves.

He or she would make sure the program not only didn't have any infinite loops that waste both time and energy and make sure it didn't stop unexpectedly and performed consistently doing what he or she wants it to do no matter how many thousands or millions of times the program is executed by the computer or robotic device.

The Tipping Point for world Green Energy
I think we just might have reached the tipping point for world Green Energy to take off much like a new industrial revolution on earth. No one is fooled by the temporarily low price on gas and food (both related). It is just a matter of time (months or years) before gas and food is up out of sight once again.
With President Elect Obama maybe the U.S. can finally mobilize its 300 million people strong into the same direction and by example permanently change the energy base on earth off of oil. It is not really about oil and terrorists though that is an issue at this point. NO. It is about the future survival of the human race at all. If any of you have been to the arctic circle recently, an area the size of California, Texas, and Alaska is now gone within a few years of the Polar Ice Cap during much of the year. And when the ice is completely gone for 4 months a year everything on earth will suddenly get to feel a whole lot hotter pretty quick at that point. I, personally don't want to experience that nor do any folks where it gets much above 110 degrees Fahrenheit regularly right now. I have been outside for a couple of days when I was young in 120 degrees Fahrenheit and the crusty armpits(sweat and salt) and headaches from being in that hot a climate without an air conditioner are awful. For me, at that time the coldest it got was 101 degrees at about 6 am outside.
In humid climates anything above 100 degrees Fahrenheit can be deadly and many people might not survive this outcome if it lasted very long.
I believe the tipping point for green energy is here. The people have spoken and it doesn't really matter how low gas prices are right now. Gas is no longer an acceptable way to go at any price. So as little of it as we can use the better from now on.
Besides, our descendants will need the oil to make synthetic rubber, nylon and plastics for thousands of years to come until we develop something else to use for what we need. If we burn it all up now what will they use to build what they need?

Talk to the Trees
Note: I have learned that one can literally "talk" to all life and get a response. It does help, however, to develop this kind of communication while spending a lot of time alone in nature without tv. cellphones, or even computers or internet. I found that only in this way can one be sure to have the capacity to separate ones own thoughts from the thoughts coming in from outside oneself. This helps prevent self delusional conversations. end note.
I was walking in the pine, fern and oak forests around where I live on the Northern California Coast. I was walking with my two dogs and they seemed especially happy to be out after a good rain. Though it was misting a little bit still I could see the sun breaking through a couple of places.
The trees were ecstatic and very grateful for the rain after such a long drought since February 2008. Though there have been a few storms with sprinkles, this is the first real storm with any real rain to speak of.
I first saw a green pine tree about 100 feet tall that had fallen and realized that during the storms sick trees with pitch canker often soak up water and break in the winds from the storm which is what happened here. I was amazed that the top 20 feet of the tree had been thrown about 100 feet or more from the rest of the tree and was glad I hadn't been there when it fell.
Later, I reached a view point of the ocean in the distance and it was beautiful. As I was enjoying the clear fresh air off the Pacific Ocean and fresh air from the storm and the rain rinsing the air, I noticed a 25 or 30 year old tree that had died in the drought. There was still enough life left in it to talk to me even though it was mostly brown pine needles completely. I said to it, "The rain has been great for us all." The tree said, "We call the clouds 'lifegivers'". I started to think about this and of course I'm translating this into English the best I can from pure thoughts the kinds trees sometimes have with those they trust like myself. So I said, "What do you call the Sun and the Earth?" To which many trees joined in and said, "The sun is father and the earth is Mother but the Clouds are the life givers and the rain is life!"
Since I have spend a lot of time in my life studying Cultural Anthropology and Comparative Religion I guess I sort of transposed this into Father, Son, and Holy Spirit or Buddha, Dharma, Sangha or Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva. Anyway you look at it, it is a holy trinity of life for trees and the rest of life on earth.
I walked away inspired by this experience and then I walked by a tree I had tried to save by bending it upright a few weeks ago that I wrote a piece about then. The tree said, to me, "I don't have to die of shame now, of dying bent over while less than 20 season(years) old. You have immortalized me among my people, the trees, and now I will die young with honor."
Now you might say to me, "Oh. You're just 60 years old and retired and spend too much time alone walking in the woods with your dogs!" However, leisure to practice has been a realized ideal for me since I almost died in 1998 and was forced to retire. Though I'm well now and could theoretically work again I don't financially need to.
So I spend a part of my time helping people and another part of my time writing about my experiences in the hope that the human race can continue to evolve and become more civilized and alive in a more useful way and not go extinct as a race along with earth!

Twilight: 150 million in 4 weeks
I saw the movie with my wife and daughter and Goddaughter. At the time I really actually enjoyed it. But later, I sort of felt creeped out by it, sort of the way you would if they made a blood sucker variety of fish the hero of a movie because it sucked the poison out of someone and saved their life. On the one hand you are happy the person lived but on the other you might find yourself sort of disturbed about the whole thing. Good vampires is sort of a paradox unless it is a comedy which in this case it isn't. So I felt a little strange not while I watched it but in my night time dreams afterwords.
Now, my wife has read all 4 books of the twilight series, my goddaughter has done the same and even my 12 year old is into the second book already. Since I live with three women that have all read or are reading this series I might have to read it myself just to stay in sync with the group, so to speak. My 12 year old was telling me in the hot tub (spa) today while we sat outside in the rain that I needed to read the Twilight series of books. I said, "Well. I don't read books too much because since I started to wear glasses 10 years ago if I read a book over about an hour it gives me a headache from wearing glasses! She said, "Dad. You need to read it!" So, just to stay "With it" maybe I'll have to read the series too.
Normally, I like to listen to books while I'm driving. I was into listening to the Brisingr book(The third in the Eragon series) with them when they all of a sudden started all reading Twilight which sort of left me hanging. So I guess I'll be listening to Brisingr for now alone, while my 12 year old finishes the Twilight series and I start reading the first twilight book.

The evolution of Computer Programming languages
I learned to program in Fortran and Cobol when I was a freshman in college around age 18 or 19. At the time I was a computer data processing college major. I was looking forward at the time to a career as first a computer programmer and then systems analyst. However, after a couple of years in the profession I found I didn't like being in large rooms without window and only fluorescent lights. Also, I was a completely out of doors person so this didn't really work for me as a long term career. I really loved programming and computers but then microcomputers hadn't been invented yet because it was 1966 and I was only 18 or 19. Also, I don't believe the microprocessor was invented until the early 1970s and then I think at first it was only a military application. I bought my first computer, a TRS-80 from Radio Shack which had 4k of Ram in 1978. Since there were no GUI's yet(mouse driven applications) one had to learn Basic language and write ones own programs in order to operate the computer. It had a tape recorder to record ones data and programs on. Though it was very rudimentary, for me it was wonderful to finally have a piece of my personal dream of owning my own computer since all the ones I had worked on were worth more than 1 million dollars per system up until then. So, next Apple brought out their first computer so IBM made their first home and business computer even though they didn't stay in the business of personal computers very strong. And then everyone got into making IBM PC clones until we got here where we are today.

It makes open software versions like UBUNTU superior in many ways to any commercially made software. I believe at this point that linux based operating systems that are open software may be the future for most microcomputers(home computers and laptops) that are mostly used by most people on earth now, especially for traveling the internet.
