When the shooting actually starts

The problem is: imagine you are an armed teacher or sheriff and you are there when the shooting starts. You want to do something but you are very afraid a bullet is going to go wild and hit a student and then where are you going to be?

In the middle of gunfire you may or may not hit the crazy person that is either going to die or spend the rest of their life in Jail or be electrocuted or gassed.

But, you didn't do this, you are just trying to stay alive and take care of your family. Likely only a SWAT team or a sniper SWAT team is actually prepared for the accuracy of shots needed in this situation. So, it might be very easy to get shot yourself because you are likely going to up against an automatic weapon likely with a bump stock or something like that that can shoot off 100 rounds a minute with is basically 2 rounds a second (or close to this) at that rate of shooting all the person has to do is to point this automatic weapon in your direction and you will be hit at least once likely unless you know how to make yourself a smaller target by using walls or desks or whatever is available.

And how many children are going to try to hide behind you that might be shot by the gunman who is then trying to shoot back at you?

All these things are happening in a split second timing and after it is over what is your status and liability or potential liability?

This is the problem with this situation because only the shooter and the children shot are victims in the end but what happens to you at the end of all this?

You might be considered to be a hero but what happens to your family when you become famous?

This is the reality of being in this kind of situation where you are armed and authorized to carry a loaded weapon into one of these situations like in Florida most recently.
