In the 1990s everyone was complaining because Walmart was putting out of business all the mom and pop stores locally of the last 100 years or so which they did.
Now the people who were left only to work in Walmart who once had their own businesses will even lose their Walmart jobs to Amazon with no cashiers at all.
This is the future. No Jobs at all for anyone.
What is very strange now is that the Trade War likely would put Walmart out of business before Amazon mostly because Amazon has lower overhead because it doesn't have to pay for all the storefronts that Walmart does. So, in order to compete more effectively Walmart likely would have to close it's stores and run mostly a business without storefronts mostly out of warehouses like Amazon does through the mail which is much cheaper business strategy for customers. Customers like lower prices but also sometimes need someone to talk to especially women regarding some purchases. So, until this changes somehow, storefronts of at least some specialty stores likely will continue to exist in the U.S.
So, strangely enough Tariffs might cause the loss of jobs to all people who work in Walmart's store fronts around the country eventually. First people stop buying at Walmart storefronts because of tariff rises caused by Trump. Then people lose jobs because of sale reduction nationwide. Then Walmart has to go to the same business plan basically as Amazon to stay in business by closing most storefronts across the U.S.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
