If you haven't been to Canada before and want to go towards Whistler the road is great now. The last time I tried to go to Whistler they were blowing up the rocks to make the road while I was trying to drive by. Because of liability laws in the U.S. you wouldn't see this happen in the U.S. but, while I was driving rocks were exploding and going every which direction while I watched. So, finally it wasn't practical to go further that day waiting for explosions to be over and we finally turned back towards our hotel several years ago now in Vancouver without ever reaching Whistler. Flash forward about 10 years and this time we made it.
From Vancouver head north over "The Lion's Gate Bridge from Vancouver proper up 99 towards Whistler which is about a 3 hour drive. What is amazing is the road mostly follows the ocean along fjord like places which are incredibly beautiful. The Granite cliff and stones and rocks along the way as well as the forest are very beautiful too. There is no place quite like this one that I have seen around the world. There is a lushness to this area with not too many people living here for thousands of years. For example, we saw four bears in the course of a day while riding gondolas which I find pretty remarkable for any area on earth.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
