The 2014 South Napa earthquake occurred near American Canyon, California on August 24 at 3:20 a.m. local time, measuring at 6.0 on the moment magnitude scale. The tremor's epicenter was located approximately 3.7 miles (6.0 km) northwest of American Canyon near the West Napa Fault.[2][4]
The earthquake was largest to hit the San Francisco Bay Area since the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake 25 years earlier.[5][6][7] Significant damage and numerous fires were reported in the Napa Valley area. The quake injured about 200 people[3] and interrupted electric service to more than 69,000 customers.[8]
An experimental warning system currently being developed by the Berkeley Seismological Laboratory issued a warning 10 seconds before the quake. Such a warning system could potentially give people time to take cover in the event of a quake, preventing injuries caused by falling debris.[9]

Geology

The main earthquake was magnitude 6.0, with a depth of 10.7 km.[2] The USGS estimated that 15,000 people experienced severe shaking, 106,000 people felt very strong shaking, 176,000 felt strong shaking, and 738,000 felt moderate shaking.[10] The earthquake lasted 10 to 20 seconds, depending on location.[11] At least five aftershocks followed, ranging from 2.6 to 3.6 magnitude.[10] The earthquake was the largest earthquake in the Bay Area since the magnitude 6.9 Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989.[11]

Impact

Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency shortly after the earthquake due to the severe damage and the possibility of aftershocks.[8]

Injuries

About 200 injured people were treated at Queen of the Valley Medical Center.[3] Thirteen of those injured were admitted.[12] Many of the injuries were lacerations and abrasions from fallen debris.[10] At least six of the injuries were classified as critical.[12]

2014 South Napa earthquake

I knew the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake was coming a couple of weeks or so before it happened. I was in Family Student Housing with my wife and 3 of my 4 children then (two step kids and two biological). So, I went to Mt. Shasta with my wife and father in law in his VW Camper van to clear the property as per California Department of Forestry regulation of my land in Mt. Shasta. On the way back there were UFO clouds and pin, yellow, green, blue, violet. In other words it was the most unbelievable display of lightning I had ever seen in my life anywhere in regard to variety of colors of lightning.

Then I bot back to UCSC where we were living then and went to sleep and was awoken by a visionary dream. I woke my wife up to tell her I was concerned because (The Grim Reaper) had appeared for the first time in my life in a visionary dream. He had put two boney fingers in front of my face which I thought meant that 2 of us (my children) might die in whatever was coming.

So, I consulted with my wife. We decided to go to Hawaii for a couple of weeks when we knew it would hit. At first I thought, "Is this going to be a nuclear blast" and then I realized "What was the probability of that?" So, the week we knew it was going to hit we went to Hawaii and watched incredible havoc on CNN on Cable TV in Hana, Maui.

However, as a precognitive psychic this freaked me out worse than anything I had ever have to know about before it happened because of the around 50 people that died in the earthquake and countless injuries etc.

It is one thing to know things before they happen. But, when people die and you knew it was going to happen how do you deal with that? Because the people I told about it happening couldn't deal with it when it happened anyway. And one friend whose multi-million dollar home was torn in half never wanted to speak to me again because it freaked her out so bad. So, how does one deal with this?

However, I've grown a lot as a person since then and had a lot of time to think about all this.

Note: I wasn't the only person that knew this earthquake was coming and decided to get my family out of the way of it. I talked to about 5 to 10 people in Hawaii who also sensed it coming and left California to go to Hawaii miss it too.
