KUALA KETIL, Malaysia - A year ago, Mohd Lotfi Ariffin bid his family goodbye and headed for Syria, where he intended to fulfill what he saw as his religious duty fighting President Bashar al-Assad.
This is a very strange video of a man from Malaysia who went to fight Assad in Syria and who was martyred there. The video includes members of his family. He went there to be martyred and to go to heaven they said.
So, it is a completely different way of looking at things than Christians and agnostics might have in the U.S. and Europe. So, this is very shocking in some ways to see the attitudes present but likely are more realistic of what is actually happening in the Muslim world worldwide, especially among Sunnis
