And many of these are also Christians. Many ministers and Priests are also practicing Buddhists because there is no conflict for Christians between Buddhism and Christianity. Since Christians often don't consider Buddhism a religion because it is thought that Buddhists don't believe in God, then Buddhism is considered to be a philosophy rather than a religion.
So, it is considered to be a philosophy of Kindness towards oneself and others which is the primary basis of civilization itself worldwide.
Even Jesus likely studied Buddhist teaching in the process of coming up with Forgiveness which he taught his followers which was a novel idea in the middle East at that time. So, it is possible the basis of Forgiveness was also the idea of Compassion taught by Buddha 2500 years ago.
So, compassion and forgiveness are the basis of all civilization on earth and without it we only have ongoing wars forever.
So, for this reason since Buddhism is very effective at teaching all religions compassion (Christians too) it is considered a very effective means of learning to generate compassion for all life in the universe, and attaining inner peace.
Also, there is the added bonus of people who don't believe in God at all can also use this compassionate method to free themselves from their problems and to help others go beyond suffering to enlightenment as well.
So, though I find it useful to believe in God I also consider myself to be a Mystical Christian and a Tibetan Buddhist as well. By God's Grace.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
