It' sort of like having little robots working inside your body cutting things with lasers and they are inserted through little holes about the size of the diameter of your little finger. So, you wind up with things on your abdomen in my case that sort of looked like moles the size of the tip of your little finger with no big scar marks. So, for example, I could even drive a car if I wanted to about 5 days after surgery without pain. It doesn't mean it doesn't change your life in a variety of ways because my intestines feel like they have been moved around somewhat. But, it is a whole lot better than dying or having big scars everywhere that take months to properly heal so you can use your stomach muscles.
The biggest change for me is I couldn't lift 50 pounds above my head a few weeks ago weight lifting. But, I can lift 30 pounds above my head or do 30 pound curls or even 50 pound curls if I wanted to keep changing the weights on my weight lifting bar. So, I figure a couple of months from now I will be recovered enough to lift 50 pounds above my head once more.
Also, if they are working in your abdomen they inflate you with CO2 so they have more room to work in there unobstructed. The CO2 is taken out of your body by breathing out and CO2 isn't flammable when they use lasers so you don't have little fires starting inside of you either.
