Rand Paul is likely the most courageous politician now in the U.S.

One reason he is courageous is he is willing to actually tell the truth and speak the truth about things, (even if he is grandstanding) for the presidency. Likely he already has many young people's and independent votes sewed up.

On the other hand he likely is not what will work as a President because being truthful is not all of what a President actually is. A President is multi-faceted and has to deal with a whole lot of things. And though being courageous and truthful works great in a movie, in real life it might not work for a variety of reasons.

So, even though I admire Rand Paul because I too, share many Libertarian values of the Founding Fathers of this country, still I find I also must be pragmatic just like they were (the one's who survived the revolutionary war).

So, though Rand Paul's ideas might be the most important to this election of anyone's still he likely will not become president because truthfulness and ideas are not all what a President or the U.S. needs to survive long term.

In the end either a President is pragmatic enough to survive whatever comes or the U.S. has a really big problem. In the end this is the reality of life here on earth. It's not what we want but it is the way things actually are.
