Why is this?
The primary reason is the slow, inexorable rise in the cost of oil. As it becomes more expensive to get it out of the ground or from under the ocean (including around the ice caps "that are melting now" from Global Warming partly caused by the burning of wood and fossil fuels throughout recorded history) oil is going to continue to go up in price because of increased costs of labor (people need enough money to drive to work and to work and to live wherever they are on earth), the cost of parts(it costs more every day to make the equipment necessary to drill for and explore for oil), the cost of exploration(it costs more because of the ongoing price of oil and the general lack of it in the ground (except now for shale oil) (and even that is more expensive to pull out of the ground than most on land oil drilling sites) because it needs special refining that regular oil doesn't.
So, even though there is drilled oil and shale oil and natural gas to use as fuels they only cause more global warming and free up more methane from under the oceans and under the ice caps that are melting which is only going to drastically increase global warming leading to more deaths in places like Pakistan and India these last few months.
So, what I'm saying here is less people (percentage wise of the population of earth) are going to be able to afford a decent life (with a home, a car, a wife and kids and a good education) than before.
And this is going to really frustrate them and cause more frustrated groups like ISIS to exist among the poor who can't even get jobs to get married around the world (especially among Muslims who aren't even allowed to date (just get married).
This likely is the reality of the rest of this century unless cheaper energy sources like Solar and Wind and Water increase dramatically to prevent wars and unrest throughout a lot of the world.
And this isn't even beginning to address the problems of overpopulation which is the cause of Global Climate Change in the first place.
However, even though I'm hearing about motorcycles being run on water in Pakistan now, if all vehicles in Asia now eventually run on Water this will make more oxygen in the atmosphere but will slowly reduce the total available water on earth because once you separate hydrogen from oxygen and burn up the hydrogen as fuel (even if it is oxygen assisted in flammability) you are only going to have oxygen out the other end and never water from it ever again.
One other interesting thing about making hydrogen and oxygen from water. It also appears that it is easier to separate hydrogen from oxygen if the water is full of salt like in the ocean which I find interesting as well. However, the salt might be a problem because what do you do with it after separating the hydrogen from the oxygen? (Maybe it just burns up in the vehicles engine)? But that might cause engine wear too.
Later: As I thought more about this the world actually could be quite nice with the right energy sources that weren't too expensive for people. However, corruption in most of the world tends also to work against this outcome. So, it is an ideal that people can work towards but then you have to always allow for corrupt people who are like beavers damming up free flowing rivers for their own personal gain. And this corruption destroys and ends lives all over the world and always has so far back down through history.
So, if you can think of a way to go avoid or go around corrupt people or to put them in jail before they harm people where you live then more power to you.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
