I looked up the temperatures for where I was in Orange County, California and realized it not only was going to be 102 degrees Fahrenheit on Sunday it also was going to be a 50 mile per hour Santana wind which often causes not only fires but also accidents on freeways throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. I decided I didn't want to experience either on Sunday so we picked up and left for Santa Barbara after picking up our friend in Beverly Hills where she was staying.
Sailing had been the best the day before, so we drove through to Santa Barbara and had dinner just after sunset out on the pier there. Though there will be Santana winds likely in Santa Barbara too, the temperatures will be around mid 80s Fahrenheit instead of in the 100s 50 mph winds.
Though we hit traffic going up the 405 especially near LAX (the main airport in Los Angeles) it only added about 13 to 15 minutes in the end to the journey. But then over the hill to 101 and north to Santa Barbara the traffic often was not full speed either but still reached Santa Barbara by Sundown in time for a nice dinner on the pier. What we found strange was that it was almost impossible to get a hotel room there this weekend Saturday night which we have never found to be the case before for years. So, some kind of concert or convention or conventions we didn't know about had to be taking place this weekend in Santa Barbara. However, it is also true the weather was perfect beach weather and will be also tomorrow. In fact, in checking the weather forecast for Santa Barbara it is supposed to be 91. It might be going to amazingly hot inland if this is the case.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
