However, this might be misinformation being spread in a KGB type of way because Russia's relationship with Kerry the Secretary of State is still intact. They might be doing this to "Suddenly" appear to repair this "relationship" so it looks better for Trump or Putin might betray Trump as soon as he is inaugurated or Putin might betray Trump anytime during the next year or so that suits him.
I don't think Putin wants a good relationship with Trump as much as he wants to destroy the U.S. democracy completely. So, I see everything in regard to Putin and Trump as a trick to harm the U.S. in revenge for what happened to the Soviet Union. Putin also wants to destroy not only the U.S. governmental system but also to end NATO. He might be beginning to harm NATO through his relationship with Turkey. We'll have to see about that.
However, I think his relationship with Trump is ONLY in the long run to destroy the U.S. anyway he can. Putin's long term goal is to increase the size of the Russian Empire and anyone who gets in his way he will try to destroy in the long run in the pursuit of that goal.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
