   He doesn't have to go back a 2nd time because he has already saved her so time has been altered permanently. They are on a new timeline now.

   
   

   This is why I say that the only thing we can count on is our memories and our friends and relatives memories because this sort of thing really happens in the past, present and future. It might be a different sort of technology but here is the logic.

   
   

   "If Time travel is possible and  has been invented anytime in the past, present or future in Any Galaxy it exists here now and always has since the beginning of humans on earth and beyond."
