How does a Boy Become a Man? How does one become enlightened?

Or how does a Girl Become a Woman?

Since I am a man and have been one now for over 50 years I think I can at least speak to being a man.

And becoming a woman for a girl is much the same thing.

I was told at 18 I was "sort of" a man like most young men at this point in graduating High School. However, I looked around me and I was much more grown up and responsible than most of the boys I knew at 18 or even 20. So, I knew though chronologically that I was a man physiologically (in other words I could father a child) which is the main criteria for being a man in many cultures of the world. I didn't have the full finesse of a man (at least the men I knew who were already 25 or 30. So, I hoped I would grow into being a full man in my own mind. I realized it was a "Work in progress" and that many boys didn't really ever make it to being "full Men" in anyone's eyes. But, I knew if I could physically survive without dying or taking a lot of drugs that I would grow into becoming a man in my own eyes. So, this is what actually happened. And I think for girls turning into women it is much the same thing for a girl becoming a woman.

So, in studying (starting in 1980) with Tibetan Lamas they told me that acceptance of already always having been enlightened is the start of all enlightenment.

So, like they told me I accepted I was enlightened knowing full well that it would be much like a boy becoming a man. So, just as I proved to myself that I was a man by taking responsibility and by getting married and starting to have children and supporting them I also became enlightened along the way too in exactly the same way.

But, if I never believed at 18 that I was a man or at least becoming a man I never could have become one.

And Likewise, if I hadn't at age 32 believed I was enlightened and capable of becoming fully enlightened that wouldn't have happened either.

So, with becoming a man you have to start somewhere and likewise with becoming enlightened you have to start somewhere which is believing you are becoming a man and believing you are becoming enlightened.

Otherwise it is never going to happen.

You have to believe something is possible and true for it ever to happen fully in reality.

So whether you are a girl becoming a woman or a boy becoming a man or a being becoming enlightened you have to believe you are becoming enlightened to ever become enlightened.

Just like you have to believe you can drive a car for you to ever drive that car or you have to believe that you can fly that plane for you ever to fly that plane or if you are becoming an astronaut you have to believe you can be an astronaut or you can never do it in the first place.

So, become enlightened by accepting you are enlightened by scientifically proving to yourself every step of the way that you are enlightened, much like you would prove to yourself that you could fly a plane before you ever soloed in a Cessna 152 or other small plane.

Each of these things are scientifically provable to oneself. So, if you ever want to be enlightened you have to believe you are capable of this or it never is going to happen.
