I'm not an expert regarding any of this by no means. I know a little bit about using the breath to elevate your spirit to a better place. I practiced some of these teachings from Ding le mai who was J. Edwin Dingle a mapmaker who visited Tibet and studied there. I think the term then was he was a cartographer early in the 20th century. He still has a Center in Joshua Tree, California called I believe. My father and I did some of the pranayama breath techniques together after visiting this center and buying some books there. My father and I built my mother and father's retirement home together from 1968 to 1980 when he and my mother retired there on weekends up on Yucca Mesa above Yucca Valley closer to Giant Rock Airport then. I rode off road dualsport motorcycles a lot there from about 1960 to 1985 when my father passed away out there. Before this my father also had a friend from his church who owned a plane and flew out there from Los Angeles a lot on weekends before my father bought his land 2 1/2 acres there in 1968 when I was 20.
