The Smartphone Religion? began June 29, 2007 with the release of the first IPhone

I realized today just now that a new Religion has sprung up among all the educated people of the world who can read or write any language. This religion is most active in those born after 2000 AD who were likely 7 years old in 2007 when the first IPhone was released on June 29th 2007.

I have noticed this change especially here in California because even my youngest daughter is sort of a worshipper of this religion.

Friends of hers have replaced "All Religions" with education and the information from Smartphones and IPads and computers of all kinds. It's been sort of confusing for someone like myself (an old Dinosaur) many of the younger generation might call us. The grief therapist that my wife went to see starting in 1999 when her mother died told me that his children call him a dinosaur too. He's a couple of years older than I am. Lately I have been counseling with him to help me psychologically deal with the health problems one often encounters while getting older. The guy who cleans our house now for example, is around 60 years old and already has had a hip replacement which is interesting but he is able to bend down and still clean a whole house like someone in their teens or twenties which shows me just how much things have changed since I was a boy in the 1950s. My wife also has a knee replacement and one of her friends and one of my friends as well. So, we have all entered a "Brave New World" so to speak of modern technology getting ever more  BRAVE and modern every day now. My wife's Stepfather lived to I think 99 years old because he got a pacemaker in his 70s and a friend of my wife's is in her early 90s and her mind is as sharp as a tack still and she also got a pacemaker in her 70s too. So, literally everything has changed from the way it was in the 1950s when I was a boy. I can still remember 1950 when I was 2 years old in Seattle Washington. This is even before Green, Yellow and Red Stoplights by the way (at least in Seattle then). Then they still had mechanical railroad arms that moved between Go and Stop. So, whenever it went from Go to Stop some people might crash which is why they invented the yellow lights to give people more time to switch from Green to Red or vice versa.

Lately when I wan't to know about something or anything I just type in at Google some specific question. For example, today I wanted to know when "The Lost City(2022)" a movie with   Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock would be streaming so I could rent it and watch it because I don't go to movie theaters anymore because I'm in my mid 70s now and the Covid risk is too great. So, I also don't ever eat inside restaurants either since early 2020 either or go to theaters since early 2020. The risk is just too great for someone my age. Today I just got my 4th booster from Pfizer by the way so I can more safely go to my son-in-laws University Graduation next month in Southern California. (by the way The Lost City you can rent and watch streaming at home on May 9th 2022).

Here on the California Coast I still believe in God which really makes me a dinosaur here on the Coast of California by the way. However, my wife and I live with the angels in our lives and this makes both of our lives worthwhile to always live with the angels 24 hours a day.

BY GOD'S GRACE
