My wife and I really enjoyed the Netflix movie "Persuasion"(2022) with Dakota Johnson: It is a takeoff of a Jane Austen piece

However, I do believe this is written for a more mature audience than some movies but the angst you see in this movie is genuine and believable in real life in that era. However, it would be less true now that women have thousands more rights than they did then in Jane Austen's era.
