I think that people often believe global climate changes are something different than they actually are. What happens during a shift like we are presently in is that things we have never seen before happen now at random never having seen them before (at least at this level.
So, preparing for the unknown is harder now. I think maybe the most important thing might be to locate to where the least amount of really bad things have happened so far. IT's true you can dig basements or tornado and hurricane shelters underground but then what happens if you and your family survive but you don't have home insurance to rebuild.
Does that mean you are all homeless on the streets?
And what happens then?
So, developing your instincts and intuition and becoming more creative or trained to survive anything might be more useful in the long run that even building a basement shelter or outside tornado or Hurricane shelter.
It's important to be efficient in everything you do moving forward now because the people who were not preparing for anything will be the people homeless without a home and without home owners insurance either.
One way might be to have something more mobile to get out of the way of problems before they happen just by listening to weather reports regularly where you live. If you have a camper or motor home that you can escape with until a storm is over this might be a good idea now.
Or just put a medical kit and MREs (meals ready to eat) non-perishable meals in your vehicle ready for you to leave at a moments notice and keep your gas tank or diesel tank on your vehicle filled so you can escape the weather in your car, camper or motor home when you need to to survive whatever is coming to where you live.
