My son is using AI as a therapy for an illness he is facing now at age 50

I was mentioning to him that he has now lived 1/2 Century and I have lived more than 3/4 of a century which is interesting in itself. However, my son has always been a Computer genius since he demonstrated this when he was 15 years old. He crashed his best friends father's IBM Clone 360 in the the late 1980s I think and stayed up all night and reconfigured it because it was his best friend's father's business computer. He was able to reconfigure the computer by himself at age 15 because he was scared he had destroyed his best friend's father's computer. The father then said, "Wow! I couldn't have done what you just did. You are amazing!"

And this is how we knew my son was a computer genius even at age 15.

So, what I'm learning from my son because I'm much more cautious about AI than he is and also I have more to protect as Patriarch of my family of several children and grandchildren as well. So, I'm much more cautious about AI than he is.

I compare it to how the Internet started and then what financially powered it was pornography but it also helped Schools and people in general and college students even when it started this way. However, then think of all the bad things it brought with it too. So, I'm very careful how I interact with AI and am very cautious just because I saw what happened regarding the Internet and being a blogger on multiple websites since 1999 too and programming my first website completely in HTML before I got this site in 2007 that can automatically program my site for me in various ways with an Auto-Coder called "Compose" here at blogger.com.

For example, as a blogger I had to stop allowing comments to be published at my site because people were writing comments in Chinese and Thai and Japanese and other languages I couldn't understand and so I naively was posting these comments (AT FIRST). Then when Google Translate was invented I started running these comments through Google Translate and they were mostly about people selling women for sex throughout Asia. And I didn't want this (IN ANY LANGUAGE) at my site. So, unfortunately I had to stop putting comments up or else I could have been having to read comments 24 hours a day and I don't get paid for this site at all because it is a completely volunteer site. So, I had to stop allowing comments and I had to stop reading all comments because there simply weren't enough hours in the day when you get 100,000 visits to your site every month or something like that or more.

So, the point here is that being careful with AI and not giving it any private information that you wouldn't want put up on a billboard in an ghetto somewhere is important.

Because if you don't protect yourself and train your kids to protect themselves from the negative aspects of AI WHO WILL?

Because many of the more negative Aspects of AI haven't even been discovered yet by ANYONE just like when the Internet first started.

It's like drones. They can do good things like rescue people with their cameras in the wilderness OR They can blow people up with Hellfire missiles like you have seen on TV by pilots in Nevada or some place like this operating Predator drones in literally any other part of the world through satellite communication instantaneously basically.

So, just like this the good and the bad of AI might not be properly defined now or ever in some ways because of the way the world is.

Is the Internet a Good thing? Yes. It can be.

Is AI a Good thing. Yes. It can be.

But both are only useful if used safely and wisely because both could cause your death quite easily too if you are putting out the wrong information or information you wouldn't give to a stranger at a bus stop.
