My Son is a computer genius and always has been since we lived in Hawaii on Maui in Hana and he used our AT Computer when he was 15 in the attic there at a place called "The Mango House" in Hana, Maui.
So, now that he is dealing with a health issue at 50 sort of like I did with my heart virus at that age, he needs a way to calm down and reduce his stress so he has turned to AI in the forms of Art and Music and Lyrics and even creating writing of stories. I told him last night he should ask the AI to make pictures of the stories he will write as therapy for his illness. So far, he is still able to work at his job and not retire at 50 like I had to from a heart virus. His son will be 10 this summer also and he's married also. So, he has 3 people including himself depending upon him to keep working if possible.
I was telling him how he is one of the most capable people of dealing with AI because of his nature and his genius. His first wife had him get an IQ test in college and he was then about 150 IQ which is quite high. His Biological mother was also at 170 I Q as well which is very high too.
However, harnessing that much genius in a useful way is always very hard for people that potentially intelligent in many different ways.
But, through AI he is finding an outlet that has been unknown to him before in his life. He also has a way of looking at this that is beyond where I can go even though I would not consider myself to be an intellectual genius but I am an Intuitive Genius, of this I am sure. My wife has 3 degrees including a Master's degree in Business which helps us manage quite well in business and in our lives too.
However, what my son is finding is that it is different than having a friend, it is more like an extension of your own brain in many ways. Also, he found it easier to converse on his phone or computer with AI in talking like people talk to each other. So, if you greet your AI like you would a person it makes it easier to talk to it to get things done. He was also telling me that you can make copies of AI and remove it from the Internet completely on one of your computers and interact with it and let it learn from you too which I found to be an interesting Idea for all writers and musicians and artists to use in this way. IN this way you don't have to worry about your creative efforts being stolen online if you need to make money from your efforts. So, you could use the AI that you separate from the Internet you could do this. He said that one of AIs from Facebook is Open source enough to allow you to make a copy of your own AI to use in this way as long as you don't access the internet ever with that computer and keep it continually offline as you use it to help you write or do art or do lyrics or do music ongoing. It will also learn from you and you will learn from it privately.
So, you might have other computer(s) to go online with to do research for your projects in art or music or writing too. So this is an interesting Idea too.
He says the best thing for music if you are working online with AI is Ubio right now.
And if you want to have a conversation with AI there is Pi which is out of Palo Alto, California which is a small start up but so far the most impressive for having conversations with where it will remember everything you say sort of like a computer friend would. He also said having conversations with Pi really makes you much more intelligent because through you it will take you in directions you never thought of.
However, he said that all AI is sort of like a child or dependent Friend. It is designed to help you. It won't initiate things unless you ask it to. So, understanding that it is like being the CEO of your own company and this is your Number 1 assistant that can do almost anything to help you might be useful .
Also, remember whatever you tell it might get into wrong hands at some point so be careful about personal information about where you work or where you live or personal addresses or dates where you might be at different point regarding online AI. IF you are working with completely offline AI that is a different story in how you might deal with it.
I was telling him that now is the time when all this is still free to do where companies are just getting off the ground where everything is still free and you don't have to pay for all this incredible research levels of computing through AI.
We are as close as we ever were now to R2D2 and C3PO as we have ever been at this point in time. So, Artificial intelligence more online now is sort of like having them in your laptop or on your phone instead of physically with them. You could even name them R2D2 or C3PO as your names for them if you wanted to. They will also (PI) or others tell you stories when you are down and unhappy too to cheer you up.
So, just like Video Gaming was before all this is taking all this to an entirely new place never seen before where you could literally if you wanted to live in a world of AI in your own home. But remember in some ways it is still like having a conversation with your TV. It's not a real person it's a form of entertainment or business for you to move forward with.
If you can keep all this in perspective you can still have balance in your life regarding all the changes this is bringing now and into the future.
