We drove north from Mt. Shasta city after 3 nights there visiting friends and drove north today to visit my son and grandson in Portland. Our daughter in law is overseas visiting her father too who is still alive.
The weather driving north was okay but it averaged 90 to 91 degrees most of the way north to Portland. Also, starting in Ashland Oregon we could see the smoke building from several fires in Eastern Oregon to the North East. Howeer, after we passed Eugene Oregon the smoke wasn't as thick and so it's actually pretty clear and basically smoke free in the Portland area of Oregon.
