Japan Crisis Spurs Mormon Survival Planning

Japan crisis spurs survival planning by U.S. Mormons

Since Americans in general have always been thinking about what it will take to survive anything more than most nations in the past, it is not at all surprising that Mormons who have been known for years in regard to their long term survival plans in regard to food and growing seeds and tools would spearhead this preparing for anything way of thinking. Especially, during these times, people in  religions likely around the world during at least the next few years will gather non-perishable food in their churches in storage facilities to prepare for potential coming disasters.

I think this is a really great idea especially after the Chile and Japan and Haiti quakes, as long as people rotate and use all the food. So, I think it is useful during these times to have at least 3 months worth of non-perishable foods for your family or all the people in your church, as long as people eat the food before it goes bad and continue to update their supplies. And if they can't consume it it should be given away to the poor and to food banks before it expires.

In this way all families and groups of all kinds are better prepared in case there is a grain shortage worse than the ones earth is experiencing now. Also, another factor now is getting food that isn't radiated whether that is in Japan, Hawaii, Canada, U.S or Mexico. So, this now is another issue to think about since radiation concentrates in milk and milk products, meats, poultry and fish. So this is another thing to consider during disaster planning for food.
