Change the World

Every time you blog or leave a comment or talk to someone in person or on the phone you change the world. Now, you can have a good and useful effect that you have on people or you can just confuse the hell out of them. I would suggest trying to have a good effect on as many people as possible because litereally "What goes around comes around". This is my life's experience. What you do to and for others will come back to you. I have lived now to see all this in action for 62 years during my life already.

For example, my friend's wife tried to kill my friend her husband. It was actually very gruesome. He was deep into Alzheimers and one day she just left him naked on the floor for several days until a neighbor saw him and called the police to come pick him up. When they found him he was almost dead but it was also obvious she was no longer really functional at the time either because of alcohol or drugs and likely both. The state took custody of him until his sister found out by accident what had happened to him. When she found him he could no longer walk or say anything more than "I love you" and "yes" and "No". Five or six years ago he had begged me to help him separate from his wife because she was beating him and hurting him. I tried but he was too far gone and I had to give into his demands eventually to go back and live with her. He didn't even know what his wallet was then. But I said to him as I dropped him back at his home, "I can't watch your wife kill you Mike. I'll never come see you again. If you stay here this time you will never see me again." And I kept my word.

His sister got legal custody of him in December and put him in a facility near Bakersfield and I went last week to his military funeral from when he worked on jet engines as an Air Force Sargent during the Viet Nam War there in Thailand. He worked on fighter jets and bombers that flew into Viet Nam and that area then from Thailand. I had never seen the soldiers fire their guns for a fallen soldier before in person. It was very moving as well as the folding of a flag. I found myself sort of catatonic on the monday before the funeral when my wife and son and I went there for the funeral the next day. I knew I probably wouldn't be right for about a week or so. I was right. I was okay and my wife and I were able to be very helpful to the family which was a blessing for all of us. Mike's wife was not there at the funeral or in that area.  Life goes on with us or without us all. It doesn't matter whether we are here on earth or not life goes on here seemingly forever.
