Dangerous pot holes in the fast lane of the Grapevine Interstate 5
I probably wouldn't write this article at my blog except for the fact that if you were on a motorcycle in the fast lane from Lebec to Magic Mountain Parkway, California and weren't watching carefully enough or were not maneuverable because you had a passenger, you might have an accident or fatality. As you leave the Lebec Area and head up you see (in the fast lane) some really awful pot holes that I wouldn't have actually believed could actually be on interstate 5 if I hadn't seen them for myself. Some were 12 inches across and 8 inches deep and if you hit one with a motorcycle you (and your passenger) might die. Even if you were in a smaller wheel car it is possible to so badly bend one of your wheels that it also might cause a really bad accident or deaths. There are also hundreds of smaller potholes (likely from the incredibly bad weather this year of snow, hail, sleet rain etc. over the Grapevine. So, the people most likely to be harmed are those who are tourists who don't ordinarily drive this route like myself. So, basically, watch out in all lanes and get ready to dodge potholes so you don't bend a wheel or get thrown out of your lane or over a divider into oncoming traffic. Long before you reach Santa Clarita most of the problem potholes are far behind you. However, if you aren't ready for them and are hemmed in by traffic from other lanes you might have no choice but to hit many of these potholes even if you throw your front end out of alignment or bend or break a wheel or damage a tire.
