Since my mother, my live-in Grandmother, my son and one of my daughters are dyslexic I think I can speak to the advantages of being dyslexic.
The biggest advantage to being dyslexic is that often times you are the most likely to diagnose a problem correctly. The reason for this is usually that being intuitively minded rather one naturally thinks globally and intuitively and often makes gigantic intuitive leaps that are very often correct. what most people call "normal" is basically looking at things something like a calculator does, only logically and using reason. One using only "normal" methods usually omits or overlooks variables that an intuitively based dyslexic doesn't.
So, one of the best people to diagnose almost any problem would be an intuitive dyslexic. However, at this point it might be a problem because many dyslexics are not very articulate or they might talk to you in a way that might not make sense to you if you are not dyslexic or haven't been around dyslexics much.
So, if I wanted to solve any problem I would want ideally a dyslexic to analyze the problem and then a "normal" or usual or whatever you want to call what most people expect to then take the definition of the problem from the intuitive dyslexic and then solve the problem using all the variables that the dyslexic came up with.
The problem is that a normal or usual person would almost always leave out variables and as a result their solution to almost any problem would not be complete. But to use the intuitive dyslexic to define the problem and a usual thinker to solve the problem using the intuitive dyslexics definitions one could almost always come up with the best solutions most of the time.
Let me give you an example. President Bush defined the problem which was: You cannot let the people responsible for 9-11 get away with this. However, others then needed to implement a solution. This I believe is the problem with the last 8 years.
Only with General Petraeus in place are things starting to make more sense now. However, now our country is going bankrupt and can't afford to do what we are doing any more.
Many people think that E=mc2 that Einstein came up with as a solution but I would say he was defining a problem. And with that formula alone atomic energy and atomic bombs were born. E=mc2 is defining the problem. And then all the non-dyslexic thinkers used the formula that dyslexic Einstein came up with and now there are nuclear powered submarines and nuclear power plants all over earth. It's not that I advocate nuclear power plants as a solution to anything. The point I'm making is that many many dyslexics are excellent problem definers, maybe the best there is just like Einstein.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
