By Being an Independent I can have any point of view I want to
The problem with defining yourself as either a Democrat or a Republican is often you are aligned with idiots in some ways. So, defining myself as an independent I can then do what is best for the whole country when I vote. Otherwise, just voting the party line one can be very unhappy with the results down the line. Each party has certain problems. Like, for Example, Republicans are often in the pocket of big business and destroy the ecology of the nation and people's health. And Democrats can be unrealistic and progressive in an unhelpful way at times. So, as an independent one can be the conscience of the nation to prevent the harm either extreme brings. And by spreading the word about problems our nation faces people who are patriotic and want what is best for the nation in all parties will rise up to save our nation from harm in various ways. All you have to do is to make people aware of a problem and people will rise up to solve it here in the U.S.
