The Problem of Supernatural Gifts

Some people say, "God doesn't give us anything that we cannot handle."

And in some ways this may be true.

However, the thing to realize is anything we know about or anything we can do we are ultimately responsible for in relation to all life everywhere.

So, the more gifts you have the more responsibly you have to be with them.

A very easy illustration of this might be: learning to drive a car becomes a gift to you and to anyone who can then ride with you in a car to school or to work or for play or home or wherever.

But, being a driver you then become responsible not only for your own life but also for the lives of people who ride with you and also for all people you have to avoid hitting whether they be in other vehicles or are pedestrians on the roads or wherever.

So yes, the gift of being able to drive a car can be a wonderful thing but only if you are safe enough to be trusted with a car not to kill yourself or others through incompetence or stupidity or through driving a vehicle that is unsafe to drive.

Likewise, when God gives us supernatural gifts we are expected to use them to help ourselves and others to better and better lives here on earth.

And if we don't life often sees to it that we die or are maimed in karma for actions not responsible in their outcomes.

However, I believe intentions are very important but also outcomes are important too.

So, if you want to be helpful to life, God and yourselves you have to develop good motivations and good intentions and develop your skills in healthy useful ways to save lives and to heal others along the way.

So, this has to do with everything in life from driving a car, to flying a plane to riding a bicycle to walking down the street but it also applies to very very advanced supernatural gifts.

Because when we are given these gifts it is an awesome responsibility.

I know I personally didn't feel necessarily safe with all the gifts God gave me until I was in my 30s because it was just too overwhelming. So, I fully understand why so many gifted people die before they turn 30 and learn to integrate life effectively enough to be a truly harmless being.

But, it also might be important to say a "Harmless" being is NOT a defenseless being.

It simply means that that one has decided to not take any life of a human, animal or insect unless there is no other choice in that specific situation.

So, as you grow through your lives in all sorts of ways it is important to remember these things that these same rules apply to physical skills that they also do to supernatural skills that God has given you and that you develop along the way.

By God's Grace
