A Drought was one of the basic causes of ISIS: So, it could be said "Global Warming helped create ISIS"

IF this statement is true then we could expect many more groups caused by droughts and famines around the world the rest of this century.

If you look at the demographics of ISIS, many of them were criminals or drug users or drug peddlers before they became a part of ISIS.

What motivates someone to join ISIS?

MOney. If they are young and don't have a job and were trained to be radical muslim in thought word and deed then the money might be attractive to them to be paid to kill Christians and other "Unbelievers"
Rape: Anyone who doesn't believe what they do it is then acceptable for them to either rape or to make them their wives or camp followers that they can have their way with. Because anyone who doesn't believe like them is considered either subhuman or an animal and has no rights to even be alive.

But, where did all this come from?

It came from the War in Iraq starting in 2003 after 9-11. It was the way Sunni Muslims were treated. Both Al Qaeda and ISIS are Sunni Muslims like Saddam Hussein was.

However, the Government of Iraq is now Shia like the government of Iran and Syria now because the majority of people in Iraq are Shia.

But what created ISIS?

The combination of the War in Iraq that created a Shia government like Iran instead of a Sunni government with Saddam Hussein pissed off all Sunni Muslims in Iraq and Syria. This helped create not Only Al Qaeda but also ISIS.

Then a drought in Syria got so bad that 30 percent of the young people or more (mostly young males without farming jobs because of the drought) and had no money or jobs. Rich Sunnis from Saudi Arabia and other Sunni countries were willing to pay with oil money to hire Sunni Al Qaeda fighters and Sunni ISIS fighters to fight for Sunni Rights all across the Middle East and to fight against Iran and all Shia Muslims across the middle East.

So, when Europe and the U.S. got into the middle of the Sunni Shia war this way it has upset the balances of power in the region in many many ways. So, governments in the middle east often don't know which way is up things are now so screwed up since 9-11 there.

So, because of the War in Iraq and because of the Syrian Drought ISIS came into being and now has almost been wiped out as a standing army since then by Europe, Iran, Turkey and Syria and the U.S. And Canada, Australia etc.

What comes next?

Likely rich Sunni Oil people individually will support another ISIS type organization or ISIS will go underground and become much more damaging all over the world. This appears to be the case. But, I think this is 10 years away because so many resources are now arrayed against ISIS that mostly it is going to be completely wiped out from so many nations arrayed against them AT LEAST AT THIS POINT.
