MD Weather: Torrential Rains Coming, Flood Watch Extended
As if Marylanders weren't already sick of rain, the National Weather Service says more "torrential rains" are on the way, and more flooding.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Flooding continues to block some roads in the Baltimore region, much of the seven-day forecast has rain chances in it, and the National Weather Service has extended the flash flood watch for the city of Baltimore and several counties until 2 a.m. on Thursday.
Numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop Wednesday afternoon and cross the Interstate 95 corridor this evening. "Multiple rounds of torrential rainfall will be possible for targeted areas. Given saturated soil from recent rainfall, repetitive heavy rain may result in flash flooding," warns the National Weather Service.
Urban areas, locations along small streams and creeks, and poor drainage areas are most vulnerable to flash flooding.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation, says the Weather Service. Residents are urged to monitor the later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
"Showers and storms are becoming more numerous throughout the region. We expect as the afternoon wears on into this evening that shower and storm activity will increase," the NWS said. Check on changing weather changes by checking www.weather.gov/lwx.
