This is an interesting movie. The way it starts in Tibet with a Tulku and a Dorje
Phurba is interesting too. The Shadow I believe was written originally as a comic book I believe in the 1930s?
I answer this in the next blog article. The Shadow I believe started out on Radio even though it was too scary for me at age 4 when I listened to radio shows like "Gildersleave" and "Fibber McGee and Molly" around 1952. When my parents were at church (they were ministers at night during the 1950s) I listened with my grandmother to Gildersleave and Fibber McGee and Molly. But, I thought this movie was interesting just to have a Tulku and a Dorje Phurba (the thing that bites "The Shadow's Hand" in it.) A Dorje Phurba is a ritual spiritual cutting dagger to cut people free from bad karma in Tibetan Buddhism. So, I guess in this instance the Tulku Subjagates "The Shadow" and makes him take down criminals in expiation of his sins in New York City. This would be the way "The Shadow" would be earning his enlightenment. Though it isn't mentioned this way I believe the Tulku would be teaching "The Shadow" compassion for himself and others by making both "The Shadow" and the world a better place to live in for everyone.
