I would say at present humans are the pets of artificial intelligence and artificial intelligence (Presently) is or are the pets of humans

So, I would say at present humans are pets and artificial intelligence is our pet or pets too. But, all that will change dramatically within the next 20 to 30 years and this is what everyone has to be prepared for or else people more and more will be not only the  pets of artificial intelligence but also it's slaves in various kinds of ways.

So, be aware what is happening to you and your children to prevent them and you from becoming slaves to artificial intelligence along the way.
