It must be cold because the radar says it's snowing as far south as Redding
And you see snow coming down as far north as Eugene, Oregon, so unless you have chains you might reconsider driving from Redding North to Eugene about now as of 1:41Pm PST Tuesday.
Snow is now falling as far south in the Sierras as Mammoth Lakes and rain is falling from Red Bluff to Merced and San Jose right now as well.
Wind is supposed to be 25 to 30 miles per hour from about 4 pm along the coast where I am with gusts up to 60 mph with 12 to 16 foot waves from 4 pm until 4 AM. I moved all the deck chairs off my deck so they won't blow around and break things and sliding glass doors and the like. So, I moved all the chairs off the deck down to a lower level into the yard in back to prevent damage from the wind. A friend called and said they expect at least a foot of snow today and tomorrow in the little City of Mt. Shasta down in town so that means at least a foot of snow and possible ice on the freeway so if you drive at night there (I wouldn't recommend it) expect to see some black ice or regular ice so be prepared for driving in that so I hope you are experienced if you attempt it.
