I happened to turn on the TCM channel on cable and watched maybe the last 1/2 hour of this one and found it very well crafted (the story). It made me want to research the actual truth? of the story of Hornblowers escape from the French in France and taking a frigate that he stole that was English back to England with 2 of his men and some escaped English prisoners who were being held by the French before this. Of course it is possible that his escape is what actually made him an Admiral to begin with.
