Early Life
Jennifer Joanna Aniston was born on February 11, 1969 in Los Angeles to John Aniston and Nancy Dow - both of them television stars at the time. Despite the fact her parents were in showbiz and her godfather was Telly Savalas, an Academy Award nominee actor, Jennifer wasn't allowed to watch TV. But while her older half-brother John Melick was babysitting her, he would sneak in some VHS tapes and watch The Bionic Woman with Jennifer. She loved that and used to do the sound effects all day, acting out scenes as if she was part of the show.

School Years
Although her parents enrolled her in the Waldorf school, which meant very strict rules, Aniston was exposed to a lot of extracurricular activities, and she found one activity in particular that she loved - acting. Eleven-year-old Jennifer was so happy to find something that she enjoyed doing.
Sadly, Aniston was also bullied at school, and she didn't really know why, so she didn't enjoy her school years.
"I was one of the kids who the others would decide to make fun of. It was an odd period of time during fifth, sixth, seventh grades. I was a little on the chubby side, so I was just that kid,” Aniston said in a 2018 interview for InStyle.

Drama School
When Aniston was just 12 years old, she was enrolled in the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan, where she joined the school's drama society. Aniston was in several big school plays and successfully graduated in 1987. One of her fellow students at the time was Cher's son, Chaz Bono.
After school, Jennifer decided to pursue an acting career, but being the daughter of celebrities didn't help her gain quick success, and she still had a long way ahead of her.

Surviving In the Big Apple
After Aniston graduated from her prestige high school of music and arts, she tried to conquer New York's acting scene, but while she did get some parts in a few off-Broadway productions, she still couldn't make ends meet in the Big Apple.
To get some extra cash, Jennifer took some odd jobs: she worked as a telemarketer, a waitress and even a bike messenger. She got her first more "serious" job in 1989, working as a spokesmodel for a weight loss company.

First Break
In 1990, Aniston got her first TV role acting alongside Mayim Bialik in a TV show called Molly, but it was not long-lived. Aniston then got a role in the TV adaptation of Ferris Bueller's Day Off that unfortunately had the same luck as her previous show and was cancelled shortly thereafter. In 1993, Aniston got a part in Leprechaun, a horror movie which was very unpleasant to film and on top of that also failed in the box office. All of these setbacks nearly made Aniston quit acting.

New Chance
After her bad experience with the horror movie and the cancellations of the shows she was on, Aniston was frustrated.
Then, one night, she pulled over at a gas station to fill up her tank at the exact same time as Warren Littlefield, the head of NBC Entertainment. He was the man behind TV shows such as Frasier, Seinfeld and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
When he pulled up to a pump next to her, Jennifer saw her chance, walked over to him, and asked: "Is it ever going to happen?"
Littlefield recognized Aniston from her roles in the failed shows, and a few months later, NBC handed Aniston the script for Friends.

The Show That Changed Her Life
A few months after the gas station conversation, Littlefield sent Aniston a script for the role of Monica Geller in a new sitcom called Friends. Aniston was over the moon. She auditioned, but didn't get the part. Three hours later, however, she was offered the role that would change her life forever.
For the next ten years, Jennifer Aniston would be known as Rachel Green, one of the six most loveable characters on TV. That role also set her on the way to becoming one of the highest-paid actresses in the TV industry.

Friends
Friends went on to become one of the most successful sitcoms in the history of modern television, making Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler and Joey a part of everyone's life from 1994 to 2004.
The show was a huge success around the world, and many people saw the actors and the characters they played as one and the same.
One of the reasons the show was such a huge success is the chemistry between its six stars. They instantly became friends in real life as well as on screen, and had no difficulties translating that strong bond to the screen.

Together
The main cast were such close friends that the show was dubbed "TV's first true ensemble series."
The group insisted that they would remain equal, and would only act as a group. No one would take prominence over the others. After the second season, the main cast decided to enter collective negotiations for their salaries, settling on the salary of the least-paid cast member. That meant Aniston's salary was reduced, but she didn't mind, as long as they were all getting the same deal.

The Rachel Haircut
Proof of the show's popularity, and of how loved Rachel was, came in 1995 when her distinctive layered haircut became an international trend.
After seeing her new haircut on the show, millions of women around the world asked their hairdressers for "The Rachel." Regardless of the fact that Aniston's longtime hairstylist Chris McMillan was, by his own admission, "high" when he cut her hair for the first time with a razor instead of cutting shears, fans all around the world copied it all the same.

Mom Issue
When Aniston became worldwide famous it wasn't all fun and games for her. While she had fame and fortune, a falling-out with her mother cast a shadow over her happiness.
Her mother, Nancy Dow, wrote a very revealing book about her life and her relationship with Jennifer without consulting with her daughter beforehand.
The two grew distant as a result. Dow wasn't even invited to Aniston and Brad Pitt's wedding! In later years, Jen and her mother would reconcile.

For some time now, people have been talking about Aniston's tattoos, trying to figure out what do they mean. Well, apparently while the actress still doesn’t reveal the truth behind her body art, some friends of hers discussed her tattoos with People magazine, saying they're related to her late dog.
Regarding her “11 11” tattoo, apparently she's “very spiritual” about it. “The number 11 is also special to her because of her birthday and Norman [her dog].” Aniston still misses her Welsh Corgie-Terrier, who died in 2011.

A Lavish Malibu Wedding
On July 29, 2000, Pitt and Aniston said "I do" in a luxurious, expensive Malibu wedding ceremony that ended with fireworks.
The couple organized a huge tent that would provide them with privacy, but since both of them were huge names in Hollywood, it is no surprise that the media wanted to have a look. Photographers were pressing up against the wedding venue's gates, even using planes in an effort to catch a sight of the famous couple or the celebrity guests.

In one interview, Aniston revealed that her friends were worried about her partner at first, until they actually met Pitt and saw he was a great guy.
Speaking about marriage, Aniston noted that it was a strange feeling that even after a big fight, she couldn't actually say: "Screw you, I'm outta here!", adding that the fact they were both there for the long haul was something wonderful.

In the November 2001 Thanksgiving episode of Friends "The One with the Rumor," Brad Pitt appeared as a guest star playing Will Colbert, a handsome but really annoying childhood friend of Monica's, who was actually bullied by Rachel in high school. As a result of the bullying, Will, an overweight child, who founded "I Hate Rachel Green Club," which Ross was also a member of. The whole episode was full with actual inside jokes from Aniston and Pitt's marriage and was nominated for many awards.

The Love of Her Life
When asked in an interview about how she would describe her love for Brad Pitt, and whether he was the love of her life, Aniston gave an interesting answer. While saying Brad was a big love in her life, Aniston noted she never understood the term "the love of my life." She said she was happy that in the chaotic and wonderful business they are both in, she has someone to keep her grounded, someone who knows all of her.

Time For a Family
In 2004, Aniston was ready to slow down. In one interview, she said she thinks the time has come for her and Brad to have a baby.
"I think you can work with a baby. I think you can work pregnant. I think you can do all of it," Aniston told The Guardian.
She was quite happy in her decision and very optimistic. But unfortunately her plans were disturbed only a year later. Her dreams of having a family, sadly, didn't come true.

Mr and Mrs Smith
The same year Jennifer decided she wanted to start a family with her husband Brad Pitt, he started filming an action/spy movie called Mr and Mrs Smith alongside Angelina Jolie.
Even though Pitt was still married to Aniston, he couldn't resist Jolie's beauty. At first, they both tried to deny the chemistry between them, but eventually Pitt and Jolie had to be honest with each other and admit to themselves that they were in love. Pitt had some news to break to Aniston.

The End
To preempt the tabloids' speculations and avoid a massive scandal that would inevitably come from it, Aniston and Pitt decided to give a joint statement to announce their separation.
Although they stressed that the separation had nothing to do with any speculation reported by the tabloid media, the fans knew better. The whole world was in shock, but they figured out that the main reason for this separation was the affair between Pitt and Jolie.
So after seven years together, Aniston and Pitt's love story was over.

Emmy Award
In 2002, Aniston had a lot of good things going for her. She was the famous Rachel Green from Friends, and during the 8th season of the show, Aniston was finally nominated for an Emmy for Best Lead Actress. It was obviously Aniston's year because she won the prestigious award. To make things even better, Friends as a TV sitcom, won an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy on TV.
Aniston later went on to also win a Golden Globe, an Online Film & Television Association award, a Logie, and 3 Teen Choice Awards for her portrayal of Rachel Green.

The End of an Era
In 2004, after shooting the tenth season of one of the most popular TV comedies ever, the cast of Friends said goodbye to fans around the world. Although the popularity of the show never waned, the producers and the cast decided it was time to end it and focus their energy on different projects.
It was the end of an era. The cast cried, and despite what Aniston called "inevitable pain," it was clear to everyone that they all had to move on. Still, they all remained very close friends in real life too.

2004 was pretty hard on Aniston. The show that put her on the map was over, she had to say goodbye to the cast and their fans all around the world, but the hardest thing was that her private life was collapsing.
Pitt was filming with Angelina Jolie and the rumors were flying around, but Aniston put on a brave face when she appeared on the cover of People magazine. Not even the magazine dubbing her the "All-Time Most Beautiful Person" could help her to feel better.

Healing a broken heart can be a tricky thing. After separation from one of the most handsome guys in Hollywood, Aniston tried to find a suitable rebound. She briefly dated comedian Vince Vaughn, whom she met while filming a break-up comedy in Chicago. The couple, however, denied that they were romantically involved, despite the fact that paparazzi caught them kissing at an event in the Windy City. While on Oprah, Aniston said that she quite liked dating and enjoyed the feeling of not knowing what would happen.

Famous Interview
September 2005 was when Aniston's highly anticipated interview for Vanity Fair was published. This was her first big interview after the divorce, and people wanted to know her side of the story. Aniston told the magazine that her plans for starting a family had nothing to do with her separation from Pitt.
In January, Pitt adopted Jolie's kids, and the two of them were already expecting their first child together, showing the actor had no qualms with fatherhood. Aniston was devastated, but she insisted she didn't need anyone to feel sorry for her.

Jolie Was Uncool
In a 2004 interview, Jolie talked about her relationship with Pitt, saying she realized at one point during work on Mr. and Mrs. Smith that she couldn't wait to get to work and see him.
In 2009, Aniston gave another revealing interview to GQ magazine and said Jolie's "confession" was not cool at all.
That same year, two big movies hit the cinemas. One was Aniston's film Marley & Me, and the other was Brad Pitt's movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Marley & Me had bigger success in the box office.

Meeting Justin Theroux
In 2011, while filming a romantic comedy called Wanderlust, Jennifer Aniston met Justin Theroux. Theroux was recently single and Aniston was divorced, and before the movie wrapped filming, the two were an item. They hit it off instantly, and not long after the film was released, Theroux and Aniston were in every tabloid out there. Paparazzi had a field day with these two love birds, and the gossip columns were filled with reports about their love and relationship. One of Aniston's friends said that Jennifer is very happy with Justin and that he is a really great guy.

A Star for a Star
2012 was a good year for Aniston. Not only did she have a new love, but she finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It is rare for anyone to find true love more than once in their lifetime. Aniston found it twice. After her first marriage collapsed, she managed to find another great guy with whom she fell in love.
That is why, when Justin Theroux got down on one knee and proposed to her on his birthday on August 10th, 2012, Aniston was over the moon. She said yes for the second time in her life.

Long Engagement
After almost three years of engagement, just when the whole world gave up the dream of seeing these two ever get married, Aniston and Theroux finally tied the knot. They decided to go with a small ceremony with just a handful of guests in their own home.
Fans were happy with the news that the "unlucky in love" Aniston finally got her fairytale ending. The 70 guests -- among which were Ellen Degeneres, Lisa Kudrow, and Howard Stern -- thought that they were invited to a birthday party. Jimmy Kimmel and Sia entertained the guests.

Just Friends
In 2017, two years after Jennifer Aniston said "I do" for the second time, a person close to Aniston told US Weekly that Brad Pitt called Jennifer to wish her a happy birthday. This was particularly of interest to gossip columnists because Pitt had recently divorced from Angelina Jolie. Aniston and Pitt reportedly talked and Pitt opened up to her about the hard time he was going through. After several conversations and constant texting, the two of them got their relationship back on friendly terms.

A Home of Their Own
In February 2018, Jennifer Aniston told one magazine the story of the house she was sharing with Justin Theroux. She admitted that when they bought a house for an astonishing $21 million, she didn't quite like the interior, but because she always had an eye for design, she decided that renovation was in order.
Aniston then called her friend, designer Stephen Shadley, and the two of them were able to find a perfect balance and create a dream home for the couple.

A New Passion
While working together with Stephen Shadley on her new home, Aniston discovered a new passion. Designing was a very creative job, but also very demanding. She had to learn how to compromise on different ideas and styles because Theroux had his own taste and his own ideas for a home. So Jennifer learned that it was really important when you do a designing job not to say "No" immediately when someone suggests something that you don't like. The work should be more collaborative, she said.

Great Job
After finishing her designing project, Aniston was hooked. She said she may have found another calling, and stated that if she wasn't an actress, she would be perfectly happy as a designer.
The look of her and Theroux's house after she was done proved that she had a talent for it. Aniston loved the process of taking something and adjusting it to fit someone's personality and preferences. She enjoyed the whole process from picking out the fabrics to making the finishing touches on the house.

Second Divorce
Not even three years after they said "I do," Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux decided to call it quits. Despite the fact that their divorce was a very much public one because of their star status, the two tried to end their marriage in as painless a manner as possible.
Theroux said in one interview that the separation was heartbreaking but inevitable, and that he has a huge amount of respect for his ex-wife. According to Theroux, they are still friends, and they will try to stay on good terms in the future as well.

The Post-Its
Of course there were a lot of rumors surrounding Theroux and Aniston's breakup, but it was almost impossible to know how many of them were actually true.
One of these rumors came from a "source close to both of them" about alleged post-its that Aniston kept from her marriage to Brad Pitt. On the post-its that Pitt left Aniston everywhere were the little loving notes saying "you looked nice today" or "miss you already." The "source" said that all those memories were troubling Theroux during his marriage to Aniston.

Single Again
After two very public marriages, and even more public separations, Jennifer Aniston decided that it was time to focus on herself for a change. She denied the rumors that she could get back together with Brad Pitt, which naturally started as soon as they were both single again. But this time, Aniston was very much happy on her own. Best Friend
Since the two of them met on the set of Friends, Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox, aka Rachel and Monica, were best friends on and off screen. Cox was even Aniston's maid of honor, so it is safe to say that the two of them remained best friends through thick and thin. After Friends ended, the rest of the group began to drift apart, but not these two. In the days following her second divorce, Aniston wanted to close herself off to the world, but Courteney had a better idea. She took Aniston out every chance she got.

I'll Be There For You
In one interview, Jennifer Aniston referred to Courteney Cox as extremely fair, ridiculously loyal and fiercely loving.
Cox described their friendship in another interview, saying: "We just have fun, we laugh, we're inseparable and it's great."
Aniston stated that she even slept in Cox's guest bedroom a lot, and that like a true friend, Courteney was always there for her.
Aniston even made a guest appearance on Cox's show Cougar Town, and the two had great fun being on set together again.

Talking About Family
After saying that she wants a family with Brad Pitt, the media turned against Aniston, accusing her of actually not wanting children and saying that was the reason for her breakups.
In 2018, she finally addressed this matter. In an interview to InStyle magazine, she accused the media of being insensitive about this issue.
"The misconceptions are 'Jen can't keep a man,' and 'Jen refuses to have a baby because she's selfish and committed to her career.' Or that I’m sad and heartbroken. First, with all due respect, I’m not heartbroken. And second, those are reckless assumptions," she told the magazine.
"No one knows what’s going on behind closed doors. No one considers how sensitive that might be for my partner and me. They don’t know what I’ve been through medically or emotionally," she added.

Greater Purpose
In the same interview, Aniston stated that she may not have children, but she sure did leave a mark on this world, so she shouldn't be punished for not being a mother. She also stood up for every woman who has been accused of being less of a woman for not becoming a mother.
"There is a pressure on women to be mothers, and if they are not, then they're deemed damaged goods. Maybe my purpose on this planet isn’t to procreate. Maybe I have other things I'm supposed to do," she said.

Staying Friends
After the divorce was final, Theroux was the first to speak out publicly about it, saying there was really hardly anything interesting about his breakup from Aniston.
"Neither one of us is dead, neither one of us is looking to throw hatchets at each other. It’s more like, it’s amicable. It’s boring, but, you know, we respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be," he told The New York Times.
"It was heartbreaking only in the sense that the friendship would not be the same, as far as just the day-to-day. But the friendship is shifting and changing, you know, so that part is something that we’re both very proud of," Theroux added.

Her net worth in 2017 according to Forbes was around $200 million. Although most of that money was made in acting, a lot of it actually came from endorsements, which today make up most of her income.

It is a fact that Jennifer Aniston is a beautiful person, even People magazine named her the Most Beautiful Woman in the world in 2016. So it is not a surprise that most fans of Friends had a crush on her. She was the dream girl for most men, and her energy and ability to love life only contribute to her beauty.
Maybe it will come as a surprise to some of you, but one particular person that we all know had a huge crush on Jennifer Aniston and was able to admit it years later.

Cole Sprouse's Crush
The young actor Cole Sprouse, who was cast to play Ross Geller's son Ben, had a huge crush on Jennifer Aniston. He was only 8 years old when he first appeared on Friends, but he was still one of Aniston's biggest admirers.
Love knows no boundaries, as Sprouse later stated during an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. He fell in love with this pretty lady and recalled he was so intimidated by his crush, that he would often forget his lines, leaving Aniston to stare at him, waiting for him to do his part.

Another Perspective
Although many people, including the young Sprouse, had a crush on the beautiful actress, she only experienced true love twice in her life. Today, she is more than happy to be by herself, enjoying her own company and focusing on work.
Acting is the only true passion for Aniston, and her life's successes have all been thanks to showbusiness. She has had a fruitful career, which made her one of the richest actresses out there, and at this point in her life, she is pretty satisfied with that.

Aniston's Crush?
After her two failed relationships with Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux, Aniston has been dubbed "unlucky in love" by the media. Another famous Hollywood star got the same unfortunate nickname: Johnny Depp, who was also seen as having a terrible run of bad luck in choosing long-term partners. There was an interesting rumor that Aniston actually always had a little crush on Depp, even before she started acting herself. Who knows? Maybe the "unfortunate" pair will try to have one more go at love, but this time with each other.

Tabloid Issues
Every famous person in Hollywood has an issue with tabloids at least once in their careers. The tabloids' job is to sell papers, and making up stories is second nature to their writers. One of these stories was the alleged crush Aniston had on Johnny Depp. Only time will tell if there is anything more to this story. But when thinking back to the fact the actors' agents were responsible for Aniston and Pitt's love story, who knows? Maybe the tabloids will actually create one love story instead of breaking it.

More Rumors
It is easy for tabloids to make all kinds of rumors about romances between Aniston and other people because she is single. First, they tied her to Johnny Depp, next, she was getting back together with Brad Pitt, the obvious choice, after his divorce from Angelina Jolie. And the most recent rumors is that Jennifer Aniston is seeing Adam Sandler, her co-star on the Netflix comedy Murder Mystery, their second movie together after 2011's Just Go With It. The tabloids published a photo of them holding hands, which turned out to be part of filming for the movie.

Fake News
The rumors of Aniston and Adam Sandler were dating were just fake news, of course, not only because Adam Sandler is happily married since 2003 to his wife, Jackie Sandler, but also because he and Aniston value their friendship too much.
"Jennifer isn’t concerned about dating," a source told People. "She is happy to focus on work. She loves filming with Adam."
So some media outlet made a joke that even more disturbing than them holding their hands was the floral outfits they were in for the movie Murder Mystery, which is set to premiere this year.

Clooney Rumors
Jennifer Aniston is a really close friend of actor George Clooney and his wife Amal, so every now and then she is invited to dinner at their house. This doesn't stop the tabloids from making up stories about Jennifer and George if Amal is not present.
While Aniston is definitely tired of all of these fake stories, she does her best not to let the rumors get to her. After spending most of her life in the public eye, she knows the game, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she will ever get used to it.

Dinner With Friends
Apart from casual dinners at the Clooneys' home, earlier this year Aniston decided to visit them at their Lake Como house and stay there as their guest for a while. She was taking a break from the filming of Murder Mystery in Italy, which made visiting her friends at Lake Como the obvious choice. Even Adam Sandler and his wife joined them for dinner and drinks. Obviously, being single among other couples doesn't bother Aniston at all. And how could it, when she has such great friends.

Since the famous "Rachel" hairstyle, Jennifer Aniston has become a style icon for every woman on the planet. Even at 48, she looks astonishing, and directors are still bending over backwards to cast her in their projects. She is always immaculate and constantly updates her looks, which inspire generation after generation. Everything she wears is immediately sought after, every color she dyes her hair is the number one request at every hair salon, so it is safe to say that Jennifer Aniston was and still is an icon of style.
