We have also had a corgi since around 2003. Then she passed in 2018 and we got a Blue Merle Corgi in 2020 as a puppy

begin quote from:

A look at Queen Elizabeth's lifelong love of corgis

In a way, they, too, were a beloved part of her royal family, her constant companions. Perhaps no animal has been so ...

Corgis being a shepherding race of dogs are very ancient which likely come originally from Southern France before they came to Wales as Welsh Corgis. They are a very loyal and interesting breed of dog that has big dog qualities even though they have very short legs. But, these same short legs make them good mousers and gopher dogs as well. They are very loyal to the family and are famous for the interesting sounds they make which can be like someone talking or mumbling sometimes which is very funny to listen to out of the blue.
Our corgi watches TV with us on our big leather couch and this is often her favorite time of the day sleeping between my wife and I. She will growl if I'm not sitting there and compete with me for a seat on the couch and play bite me because she is an alpha corgi. She also plays "Doggy Soccer with me out on our deck in the back yard and will play this all day long if we could or would actually do this. She loves to go the the beach with me because we live within a mile of the beach. She loves turning over on her back and wriggling on the sand in wild abandon at the beach to scratch her back in joy. And she walks along the beach there with me almost every day year around in the afternoons often. She has been an amazing companion for my wife and I and made 2020 to 2022 bearable because she doesn't know Covid she just knows she loves us her family and every human being she meets which is wonderful.
