Darshan is a Spiritual Blessing

darshan, (Sanskrit: “viewing”) also spelled darshana, in Indian philosophy and religion, particularly in Hinduism, the beholding of a deity (especially in image form), revered person, or sacred object.

I like the word Darshan because it gives a kind of spiritual blessing that I akin to "The Grace of God".

It is a very special thing, especially in places like India, Nepal and Tibet.

I have been to India and Nepal in 1985 and 1986 and this changed me a lot going there with my wife and three kids. My wife and I were 37 then and our kids were 10, 12 and 14 years of age and we pulled them out of school for 4 or 5 months and home schooled them while we traveled for 4 or 5 months across Thailand for 2 weeks, then Nepal, then India and then Nepal again before we flew back to the U.S. in April 1986. We also brought a Tibetan Lama and his translator with us to the U.S. then when we came back to California. He started the Shambala Mahayana Institute near San Francisco and had students in Santa Cruz and Nevada City and other cities along the coast near San Francisco.

Darshan I was told was a "Spiritual Blessing" for example, there are Pujas like one called "The Rain of Blessings" which also reminds me of the word Darshan.

During the 1980s especially I liked using this word even though because I live in the U.S. ever since April 1986 I more likely use the word "Grace".

For example, all my life I ONLY live by the Grace of God. This is very clear to me and has been clear most of my life.

To have survived all that I have and to have done all that I have done there is only one way this could have actually happened which is "By the Grace of God".

So, because of this I am Grateful every day to God for the amazing life he has given me and my family and children all these years. Soon I will be 75 years old "three quarters of a century" of a truly amazing life given to me by God and the Angels always.

By God's Grace
