It's been like this at the coast since December about:

Small Craft warnings pretty much continually since Christmas now!

Wind 10-25 G30

Swell 3-5 ft. at 13 Seconds

Surf 3 to 6 feet

Water Temperature 50 to 53 degrees Fahrenheit

Riptide Risk: Moderate to High

High Tide 10:50 AM

Low Tide 4:24 Pm

We have had waves at times over 30 feet high and 20 feet high during the winter.

We have been flooded along the coast because of the high waves and high tides several times and many places like Pajaro and Capitola near Santa Cruz have been flooded. However, it's still 10 to 20 degrees below normal since Christmas. Very unusual year especially after the last 20 years of drought.

50 to 53 degree Fahrenheit water in April in the ocean is pretty much unheard of also. It should be at the very least 57 to 58 degrees instead
