Of course, especially if you are writing only for yourself and don't want other people to read what you write you can write any way you want to.
And even if you want to publish online and still don't care what other people think about your writing I suppose you can also write any way you want to.
For me, I started writing simply because I was dying and realized I was dying and so I prayed to God and said to God that if he saved my life (then I was 50 years old) that I would start a website then in summer of 1999 (because doctors said I would live by May of 1999 and I didn't know whether I could live anymore from Fall of 1998 to May of 1999 when doctors said I wasn't going to die (at least right then).
So, I started my first website with geocities.com and then Yahoo bought geocities and you had to pay Yahoo business for a website then so I bought one in 2007 about the same time I got this free website at Blogspot (blogger.com).
The reason I started writing online in June of 1999 was to honor my agreement with God that if God saved my life I would sing God's praises and write about my experiences with Angels my whole life starting at age 2.
God seems to be happy with me doing this because it's 24 years later and I'm still alive now and almost 75 years of age.
Maybe writing because God has helped you might be good too?
