If you find a writing style that you like, maybe stay with it if it serves your needs.

For me, writing was always a way to self comfort in difficult times and a way to better understand myself and those around me and the world around me too.

However, we all change a lot. Recently, I talked with someone who said that someone they knew years ago was having affairs on his wife. I said, "Oh. That sounds like a man in his 30s, that kind of mind fuck".

I said to her. Is this person still married? And she said "Yes".

I said, "Well. That is rare but some wives put up with husbands like that as long as they stay with them."
