Triage

 We were at a hospital in the Portland area because my son was having an emergency. He needed a specialized medicine to stay alive. So, we went to the emergency room before he died. Then there were alarms going off because other people were dying. I tried to tell the lady that my son had already stopped being able to swallow and soon he would stop breathing. However, she said they were in Triage because many people were likely dying that night there. 

So, we finally had to take my son somewhere else to get his medicine before he died that night.

As it was when we finally found some medicine he was close to not breathing anymore in addition to not being able to swallow because of an Autoimmune disease. So, my wife had to cut up the little pills into 4 pieces while he gagged trying to get them down before he died. Luckily he and we survived this awful night. However, Triage doesn't keep everyone alive just some people lucky enough to benefit it.

If you ever watched "Pearl Harbor" with Ben Affleck you know what I'm talking about during the Triage during the Pearl harbor attack where they used lipstick as a message on patients foreheads to try to save the most people they could before they died.
