Putin was a young KGB officer in East Germany when the Berlin Wall fell. However, he still acts like he is a Soviet Agent now while Running Russia. To him, it is like the Soviet Union never ended.
What is the real difference between then and now in Russia?
The real difference is Russia is a lot smaller and atheism isn't forced upon Russian Orthodox Christians who are now influential in the Russian nationalistic Government under Putin.
So, we now have an extremely nationalistic Russia under Putin that is similar in some ways both to the era of Czar Nicholas just before the Russian Revolution somehow combined with aspects of the Soviet Union as well. So, we have a Christian expansionist nationalistic Russia wanting to be larger than it has been since the 1990s. Will the world let Russia expand in the Russian Empire once again.
Probably not. And this is why a war might result that could bring in all of Europe and the U.S. against Putin. So, Putin might be a cross between a Hitler and a Napoleon in all his actions.
The problem with this is that we live in a post nuclear age where nukes from either side could go off at the drop of a hat. So, will there even be an earth 20 to 50 years from now? None of us are completely sure about this at this point.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
