If you haven't watched any of the Outlander series yet, don't let your children watch this unless you have watched it first.
Because it deals with many very sophisticated subjects like full frontal nudity with sexual intercourse including man on woman rape and man on man rape graphically depicted as only the British could as this is made in England according to English Mores. And the U.S. generally speaking is much more prudish than the English are about nudity and sexuality.
So, unless you want your kids to be as horrified as you likely will be watching something made this well and acted this well and done this well sort of like Downton Abbey with nudity and sexuality more depicted and more violence, you need to watch this stuff first before you consider exposing your children to it.
However, besides that this series is extremely entertaining and worth watching.
