When does Colbert take over Letterman's slot?

I was wondering why there is no Letterman show at all now? Because it seems to make more sense to start Colbert soon. However, it is nowhere to be found. Does this mean they aren't going to do the show with Colbert (Stephen Colbert) because I can't seem to find anything online about this so I find this to be really strange.
