My wife made the point that most people are missing here. The women Cosby was talking about that he gave the Quaaludes to were NOT forced to take them but willingly took these drugs in the deposition. This is what people are not saying. So, you could say Cosby engaged in prostitution by exchanging Quaaludes for sex but you cannot say that he forced them to take these drugs because they willingly took them and then engaged in sex with Cosby who was then like a Rock Star and many women wanted to have sex with him especially in the 1970s when people were having sex like rabbits outside of marriage because AIDS hadn't happened yet and most women were on the birth control pill and had a great deal of sexual freedom because of it at that point in our history as a country.
So, I think the problem here is most people don't remember just how sexually free people were in the 1970s. Then it was quite common for men to have had 100 sexual partners by the time they were 30 or 40 and it was also common for women to have had 20 to 50 sexual partners during that time too.
So, I think this is the disconnect because now a woman might have only 10 sexual partners or less before she is 40 because of AIDS and the fear of STDs. But that wasn't true during the 1970s.
Also, during the 1970s almost no one used condoms except people in the military who were told to do this by the military arms and branches they served worldwide.
