The World is Changing

I grew up in the 1950s in the West of the U.S. until I was 4 in Seattle, Washington so I was taught to be very polite sort of like Canadians because Seattle is so near Canada that many people from Canada live in Seattle and many people from Seattle live in Canada so there there are a lot of marriages from both sides of the border there.

But, mostly I grew up in Southern California from 1952 until 1966 when I graduated high school after 9 months in Santa Fe, New Mexico while away from home in Los Angeles then.

But, what I'm noticing is just how much everyone and everything has changed. People used to still be crazy all over then but now it's a different kind of crazy. It's a more highly educated less ignorant crazy, but something is missing ( a thing called common sense).

I think coming close to dying was much more common then. It's why more people believed in God then because if you didn't you might go crazy or die from everything then.

But now, with all the medical and scientific advances you can be pretty healthy and not see much gore or death in your life so many people have given up on God because they have never been in a position where they needed God to stay Sane or to survive something really awful.

So, I think this is the biggest change is agnosticism and atheism. It really changes how people think and operate a lot. I understand why people are becoming more like this but also I find this is kind of scary to me too. Because if you lose at least Christian secular Mores what do you have?

You have someone who could go in almost any direction and often do.

So, I see this also as natural selection.

Because people who don't believe in anything often don't live very long.

I've just seen this all my life.

Why is this true?

I think it's just a part of the human condition. We need something to believe in whenever times get rough in our lives.

And the thing is, eventually times get rough for all of us.

So, when times get rough for you what are you going to have to believe in to see you through?
